There have been times in the past... the memory leak thing for example (and I don't know what that means, I just know what it did to my game time). Eve could have several forced down times a day if something goes amiss. There have been post patch times where Eve would run for minutes or maybe half an hour and then poof. Over and over again.
Something that maybe not everyone notices is that when Eve reboots (cycles through a down time) - a lot of crap gets reset. Anoms, belts... all kinds of stuff. I'm not sure exactly how the server resets work, but it's quite possible CCP had a good reason for not tying the daily SP thing to downtime and making it 22 hours instead of 24.
On a slightly different tac. STFU. CCP just handed you free skill points for logging in and killing ANY FREAKIN NPC YOU LIKE. And what do you stooges do??? You're sitting here running a ***** thread about how these free freakin SPs should be handed out. This thread is the classic "This gold brick you gave me is too heavy" garbage.
Can't you just be happy that CCP is handing out free SP that a week ago didn't exist? Seriously - WTF???
1 - You assume they could not have it reset at a specific time, such as 10 AM GMT. 2 - I would prefer for the dailies to be removed, period. But as that is not as likely as a change to the timing, I made this request. 3 - Sometimes free gold is heavy, just because it is free, does not mean it should not weight the same as other gold in the game. ie: reset when other things reset.
4 - The plus side is that CCP at least ensured it was 22 hours not 24 hours so you don't lose time.
Cloaking is the closest thing to a "Pause Game" button one can get while in space.

Dude - your perspective is skewed. You get extra SP. If you don't kill a freakin NPC on Tuesday - you don't LOSE anything. You miss out on a bonus. If not killing an NPC on Tuesday resulted in CCP taking away 10,000 SP, THEN you would lose something. You're trying to imprint your irrational view that someone else gaining something that you didn't as your loss instead of their gain. You're bonkers.
CCP gives you an extra daily benefit if you earn it (and the bar can't be made lower than it is). Honestly, if I were CCP, and I gave you extra stuff, and all you could do is ***** about how it's handed to you - I'd say "Ohhh, my mistake" and delete the whole concept from the game. Then I'd send out a dev blog explaining how Petrified ruined it for everyone, but that's just me.
The plus side is that CCP is giving players a really easy way to nab an extra 10,000 SP. If you're playing your character as a spoiled teen with an overly enlarged sense of entitlement - you are nailing it!! |

I like the current 22 hours reset better. First from one day to the next, I may not be able to login at the exact same time, so having the daily reset 2 hours earlier than the previous day is useful, and second I do not believe that any new mechanic should be tied to the daily downtime as CCP has already clearly said that they want to get rid of this downtime at some point.

STOP overthinking it! Some of us dont allways log in "like normal" I support having it after DT. |

You can't tie this to downtime otherwise Aussies like the OP (or people like myself in SE Asia) would only have to run 'dailies' every two days, 20 mins apart.
I mean it would be great for me, but totally unfair.
I suggest keeping a 22 hour cycle, but having a cap of 50k SP per week. That way everyone 'misses' two days of free SP per week, but not really if you know what I mean. |

They should've used a similar model to Dust 514 with a pool of bonus SP that you can accmulate during the month doing various activities at your own lesiure.
Dailies suck, plain and simple. |

Don't complain about free things.
I do agree that it should be a weekly pool, but the whole point was to make people undock as often as possible. |

Complaining is warranted since this isn't just a case of "free things" . It's a complete gamechanger that favors no-life nerds a bit too much over players with, jobs, familis and actual lives to consider while planning their gaming.
Eve is already like a second job. This handing out daily SP gains to nerds makes it even worse. |

If we wanted a bunch of silly daily tasks to do, we could: 1: Join a corp. A lot of them have stuff to do every day. It might be a little more involved than bashing a rat. It will mean something to someone, ex: hold on to sov, have fuel for pos, grind up sov index, have material and blueprints for industry. 2: Set our own, which is how we're supposed to decide what to do anyway.
