I do like the way how the new citadels can be configured, how open this system is, that you can even include other corporations, alliances, single characters - to have full access even for the weapon systems. And other citadel related aspects.
Would really love a similar system for the Hangars on said structures now. This system of defining access, it should make its way into everything EVE.
Especially as the new structures are going to replaces the POSes over time. Not everything POS was bad. Sometimes those shared hangars and storages could be a nice lazy thing. Only downside was the lack of security, the access often being too public or too wide.
But imagine this combined with the new access system. Spaces on citadels, that can be defined who can access it. Sharing items among specific groups of people would be easier than ever. More refined than any corporation access or right can be currently. Add the ability to create new hangars and wallets, and you may have the most flexible storage system that will get yout he love of every player - not to mention of every CEO and alliance leader.
Maybe add a skill in too, that allows making those walletes/hangars.. so you have a limitation.. as "endless space" will be impossible and the nightmare of any database operator.
For example by implementiong a new personal skill, that you as pilot can open up up to 5 of those hangars/wallets, depending on how far you trained that skill. That are configurable in the same way the current citadels are.
Then do the same for corporations and alliances... number of walletes and skills may have to be adjusted there.. maybe a bit similar to the skills that currently regulate the number of members you can have... that you can train up as far as you need them to be, allowing for a specific number of hangars/wallets.
As a corporation CEO i would totally love love love the ability to have this sort of freedom, to even make hangar access for non corp members possible.. for allied corporations., friends of the corporation and so on. And i bet other groups of people who are cooperating over specific tasks will enjoy this too (for example a group of miners within a corporation that always mines together) |
