Sorry if this isn't the right place for bug reports, but I don't know BitBucket very well and can't find anywhere there to log bug reports. If the wrong place let me know and I will delete.
Is anyone else is experiencing EveMon crashes when the app is idle or is it something specific to my PC? I haven't seen any other reports of this behaviour so must assume it is something specific to my setup.
I am running version 3.01 with the latest patches available on autoupdate (as of 08Jun16) on a Windows 10 Pro 64bit PC. I have 5 character's API's loaded and am monitoring all 3 characters on each account (so 15 characters total).
EveMon starts fine at startup (or if manually run), but after being idle for a while in the taskbar, if I click the icon to open it the icon just disappears and the process (evemon.exe) dies off. If I don't click the icon it still seems to pop up notifications etc just fine so appears to work fine if left untouched.
Sometimes if I have the app open (as in not minimized to the taskbar) and leave it in the background, it will crash as well after a while on its own (as in: I wasn't doing anything with it), but shows an actual Windows crash screen saying that WIndows is trying to find a solution, but this never comes back with anything.
I didn't have any problems with older versions on the same machine so it's only become apparent since upgrading to v3.0.
I have tried re-installing both EveMon and all versions of .Net framework without any joy.
The errors that show up in event log (app log) when I try to open the app from minimized taskbar icon are as follows: Event ID 1000 (source: Application Error):

You're going to need .NET 4.6.1+, you seem to have .NET 4.0. See if that fixes it! If it doesn't, please EVE Mail me. |

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes I did notice that in the error message. Doesn't it come standard with Windows 10? It shows version 4.6.0 in the "Turn Windows Features on or off" list and I have all the latest Windows updates installed.
I did try to install it from the MS Site but was told that I already had it installed |

So I've used EVEMon a long time ago, and I'm just trying to get started again.
The planetary colony tracking seems to be acting a bit strange for me. From what I can tell the "TTC" (Which I assume is Time to Completion), is accurate, but the quantity of product located in my Launchpad definitely isn't, and I'm not sure about the other products in factories. How often is it supposed to update?
It also doesn't seem to track assets in the citadel I'm living out of in a wormhole, I assume that's just how the API works? |

Yea, you're right. For some reason, MS reports 4.6.1 as 4.0.3. I think I have an idea of what's causing this.

It's possible there is another bug in the auto-updater related to the change from 2.0 -> 3.0. I'll look into it. |

Any idea about the planetary colony monitor weirdness I'm seeing? It only seemed to announce "completions" when I actually built some different things on new planets |

Great thanks. I can confirm that that switching off the cloud services has stopped all of the crashes I was experiencing so it must be related. |

Yea it looks like a bug with the OneDrive integration, I'll take care of it for the next release.
Try installing .NET 4.6.1 manually first here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49981, then run the install/update again.

When I try to update the update goes through (using the installer linked in the OP) but when evemon starts up I get an error. http://pastebin.com/00teGTtF I followed the 'archive and then delete the data folder ' but now my skill plans are gone, what would I need to restore to try to get those back? |

I also have the problem with the wrong .net version. The current Evemon version is for me unusable because as soon as i doubleclick the icon on my desktop i get the error message popping up. Pastebin in case you learn something new: http://pastebin.com/5fmEDmrj
The old portable 3.0.0.4631 version from the "betatests" of Evemon v3 works perfectly fine for me except a few problems where stuff like wallet, market transactions and sometimes contract take half an hour or hour to load and sometimes doesn-Št do it at all. |

I changed the skill queue warning (Tools, Options, Main Window, Skill Queue Warning Threshold) to 7 days. The popup message from the System Tray still says that there is less than a day's skill queue left. I am sorry that I cannot quote the exact message but it was transient. To be clear, the warning itself works - less than 7 days - but the message itself is inaccurate. |

I managed to run the latest evemon under Linux, specifically Ubuntu 14.04. It will probably work on all later versions of Ubuntu (or mint, Debian ...) Similar procedure will probably work for any other Linux distro that is not apt based (are there any massochists around who use those at home?)
Here is how I achieved it:
1. remove wine installed by the system:
apt --installed list | grep wine | awk -F/ '{ print $1 }' | sudo xargs apt remove
2. add winehq wine repository:
sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386 sudo add-apt-repository ppa:wine/wine-builds sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install --install-recommends winehq-devel
3. clean any old wine settings:
mv ~/.wine ~/.wine_old
4. set wine to 32bit mode (yeah it sux but ...)
export WINEARCH=win32
5. get latest winetricks
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Winetricks/winetricks/master/src/winetricks chmod 755 winetricks
6. use winetricks to install dotnet 4.5.2:
./winetricks Select the default wineprefix (click ok) Install a Windows DLL or component (click ok) select the following:
- dotnet20
- dotnet20sp1
- dotnet30sp1
- dotnet35
- dotnet40
- dotnet45
- dotnet452
Winetricks will install them all, it will pop a few errors about mono not being installed that you can ignore. If it tells you to reboot, choose to reboot later
Dotnet installation will set your windows version to 2003 and that is just not enough!
7. Set windows version run winecfg In the first window set windows version to Windows 7
8. Download dotnet 4.6.1 from Microsoft site: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49982 If this link doesn't work for any reason, goodle dot net 4.6.1 offline installer (online wont work) run the downloaded file in wine:
wine ~/Downloads/NDP461-KB3102436-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.exe /q (you have to run it with /q or it will fail)
9. Download evemon binaries, and run them with wine (and enjoy!!) |

1. I had to add -y after the 'apt' to get it to run. According to SE, the problem (auto aborting rather than asking y/n) was caused by the fact 'it wants interactive confirmation but can't read input from stdin' and -y skips the confirmation.
2. No problems encountered.
3. No problems encountered.
4. No problems encountered.
5. No problems encountered.
6. I got a bunch of fixmes but nothing stopped installation until: error: dotnet30sp1 conflicts with dotnet20sp1, which is already installed. I set it up to install the rest (35->452), but 35, 45 and 452 had the same problem.
7. My version was set to XP, not 2003 (I assume due to a missed install), but set it to 7 without problems anyway.
8. I'm not sure if it installed.. I ran it, but it threw a lot of fixmes and I didn't get any installer.
9. Didn't run. Here's the logs from trying to run it: https://bpaste.net/show/69e7e6147f99 and the ones for the entire process: https://bpaste.net/show/690236ef368d |

Can you give a single reason why GtkEVEMon is better than EVEMon (except that it doesn't need wine to run?)
It misses 70% of the features EVEMon has, starting with the overview tab, the interface is confusing, it lags behind EVE versions, and it likes to crash every once in a while.
EVEMon on the other hand works in wine perfectly |
