Curious seeing as each language and game ends up creating so many new words related only to the game or situation, some last and are added to the lexicon permanently while others are fads and drift away.
Also what have been your favorites over the years?
Atm for me its "dank". Makes me cringe everytime I see it.
For favorites Id say "awox." Mostly because its transcended the average lexicon for words and lasted a very long time.
Have you heard anything I've said?
You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?
That's right.

EVE is the only game that I can use "mate" as an insult. I find it hilarious, because I use it both as a term of endearment, and as an insult. Since then, I've found myself using it in all sorts of weird places in EVE. |

"CCPlease" makes me cringe, purely because it is so overused.
I can imagine devs sighing at seeing yet another thread that begins with that word.

When players refer to themselves as "content creators" when all they are doing is playing the game placed in front of them by CCP. In most contexts, it is an unjustified label and reeks of delusions of grandeur; typically causing me to eyeroll irl. |

Strangely enough, I find them all amusing. Perhaps, because obscured by cringeworthy, patronising attitude and behavior, they seem clumsy, innocent and funny.

You make an interesting, thought-provoking point, Zirashi. You also allow exceptions ('...in most contexts...'), which is accurate.
I don't believe a strict division between in-game/out-of-game activities related to EVE can be supported. While playing the game, that's what we're doing, irl, as it were.
Why does it matter? Because there are, in fact, many examples of genuine and valuable content creation. Blogs, podcasts, artwork, fan fiction and many other activities - are all content creation. I don't think it matters that they aren't dependant upon being logged in to the client.
Equally telling is CCP's own statement of intent to provide players with the tools which can enable them to become just what makes you do the eyeroll - content creators. This is the in-client aspect.
So my take on that particular expression is a positive one. Anyone doing any of the above is a Content Creator, and I'm very supportive of it.
There are exceptions, as you pointed out. Sitting in an asteroid belt mining scordite is not, in my view, content creation. It is Content Facilitation, affording the opportunity for content creation.

Many a dank "multidollar media empires" have been concieved mining in an asteroid belt. As a valid argument I will point at the most trusted seal of authenticity with a fetish for mining veldspar, Chribba.

Haha, Mr Sake; touch+¬!
The 'Creation' is performed by the player, and is, strictly-speaking, unrelated to the activity.

Strictly speaking we all are each other's content. As for Chribba, he has transcended from the murky content area into the Elysian fields of Eve-lore.

'Baited on' is starting to get old already.
I also dislike the whole 'boys' this and 'boys' that thing that certain streamers tend to utter incessantly, especially so as I sexually identify as a Victorian flat iron.

When people refers to something they think is OP as cancer and aids. I was brought up and taught that you don't use serious diseases for fun like that. I find it inconciderate. You never know who is lurking in the channels and what they try to forget. Makes me cringe.
Also the whole thing with "Tears" as a collectable unit, also has grown old on me by now. It was fun in the beginning, but not so much anymore

"Doctrine"
Such a word of zealotry for those who "didn't want that space anyway". Such a deep, religious word that invokes rabid devotion to which your eternal success is tied.
The term takes so much choice away from players. Maybe I don't want to fly an Eagle. Maybe I don't want to fly an armor ship. Maybe I despise everything Minmatar... "Nope, you have no choice, spend the next 2 months skilling for what we tell you to or move on".
What's funny is when 2 doctrine fleets cross paths who happen to be 100% counters to the other, both fleets run like cowards. If you have a specific fleet you are that much easier TO counter.
A balanced, diverse fleet would be more effective in battle, if nothing else because you will always have SOME advantage. Maybe you have some sniper Rokhs with some close-range brawling Megas supported by Intys for tackle and some neuting pirate cruisers or even Bhaalgorns for some long range tackle.
Mix it up. Let players fly what they want.

As a newish player, I have some eyeroll/facepalm/faceroll moments...
- Just about anything from the faithful propagandists. - "EVE is dying" - 'My game is ruined because of...' - "Can I have your stuff?" - 5 Seconds in Jita context... maybe 3... okay, just going to Jita makes me cringe - "eyeroll" - "facepalm" - "faceroll" (<= yeah, not EVE... WoW but transportable)
