SKILL POINT level, yes. Skill level not necessarily. |

So what is in it for me? I'm not going to make a trial character and try to get into Horde, without some monetary gain.
But yeah, it's easy to get into PvP straight out of the box, with little to no SP by joining a newbie friendly PvP corp like Horde or Karma fleet. |

I have done this. I've started trial accounts, gifted them with like 50 million isk from my main (this is optional. you can earn 50 million relatively quickly even as a newbie) and gotten solo kills within the first five days, against PVP-fit players. Real skill and experience matters a lot. I wouldn't expect an actual new player to have a hope in hell of finding a 1v1 fight against a PVP-fit ship and winning it.
That said, two things:
1. With a little bit of guidance, a fifteen day old character can be killing cyno ships in low sec, and the potential profit from the cyno mod dropping may actually make it a worthwhile endeavour.
2. I got my first killmail within my first month of playing when I originally started, and it was a Succubus no less. I was running level one missions in lowsec in my Thrasher, when the Succubus player scanned me down, warped in, and killed me. I went back to the trade hub and reshipped, and then started chatting with some vets about what had happened. They gave me some advice on how to refit my Thrasher for tank and tackle and then offered to shadow me back to my mission. I warped back in and, sure enough, the Succubus arrived shortly thereafter. I tackled him and survived long enough for my new friends to arrive and finish him off. I really credit that experience as being one of the things that made me realize this was a game I wanted to keep playing. |

As a complete newbie to EvE I found that as much as I want to dip my toes into PvP it simply isn't sustainable unless you're already sitting on a nice pile of ISK. As a newer player I don't have the luxury of buying a bunch of frigates and fittings in bulk and just going out there to explore and hope that I run into someone as green as me. |

Says nothing about a rookie ship. You can get a decent dessy in less than an hour your first day, and qualify to fly it by the time you get it for free. Where's the challenge? Gankers suicide gank with these daily.

I could just roll the brand new alt, wardec some random morons in an ice mining system and kill them with the alt and it would satisfy the conditions of this challenge.
Or awox somebody, or gank someone or bait some white knight in an ice belt or mission hub. It doesn't take multiple months to get like 20 million isk from the SOE epic arc, buy a ship and kill somebody. If you're incapable of conceiving of a situation where a low SP character wins a fight you either have an incredibly narrow view of the game, have zero creativity or are outright stupid. |

Satchel Darkmatter wrote:TLDR -:- Make a Trial Character, Screen shot your bio/info and then win an open world PvP engagement. The Why - I keep hearing people say that skill points don't matter, and then in the same breath I see corps recruiting "Must have xx millions SP" , and yet people still say SP don't matter, that you can do PvP you can blow **** up. But I am seriously doubting that sentiment, sure you can start the game join a corp , join their fleet with zero skill points and a rookie ship and then join a fleet (first of all no you cant because most corps need as I said above XX Million sp) and then go PvP, you might be doing 1 damage per second but your fleet will fill in your massive gap in skill's and ship power. So I don't really agree with that at all, first of all as I said above most corps need a few million skill points from players and thats me being generous, secondly as people all to often explain just getting into a good corp takes time api keys and interviews, and any corp thats easy to get into is one you actually do not want to be in, so I contest that skill points do matter. Most if not all of the players coming to this game these days are doing so because they hear and read about these colossus epic battles in space, they watch one of the epic trailers, that one with the FC's from loads of fleets still blows me away each time I see it, in a nut shell they come to the game for the battles, and I personally feel like they leave the game shortly after because they very quickly realize that those epic fights be it 1v1 or fleet v fleet are actually week's or month's away. So the challenge is simple, make a new character, zero skill points, no ships, no money either an alt on your main account or a trial account, and play for 15 days which would cover the trial period and your goal is to get into an open world fight and actually kill some one, if skill points really do not matter then this should be easy right ? Challenge Rules
- Start with Zero Skillpoints or what ever the trial starts you with.
- Start with zero money in your wallet
- No arranging a fight with others for the purpose of winning the challenge
- on gaining a kill, screen shot your wallet, and your skill points and link the kill.
You are being a muppet.
10 days into the game I was killing stuff in low and null.
And it then got decidedly worse for people from that point on until I sold my character on the bazaar.
https://zkillboard.com/kill/15460766/ most likely will get removed by CCP. It is from a way back when a 100 man corp did not close down when a 1 man corp war decced them. So before the age of pansies and crimewatch 2.0 and people like you it seems.
Killmail attached. :)
