I play eve to interact with the community, even if I do actively pirate, kill people and get killed. Hence why I post here a lot, try to help out and speak with a lot of people.
I don't play eve to grief a group of players by crushing a pre-organised event that was open to the public with overwhelming firepower (nano battleships at that, lol), then come to the forums screaming "LoLoLolOLolOL we ganked teh newbs!". It's hardly in the spirit of the game.

But some of those you kill while pirating would consider you griefing them.
So let me get this straight. Its ok to grief players (in their mind) but not to grief players partaking in an event?
This reminds me of Highlander. How two immortals cannot engage on Holy Ground, as it is forbidden.

are you honestly claiming that veto always fight evenly?
oh by the way that was a hypothetical question for all the nubs out there who think for a second that veto actually do, they don't, no one does.
The spirit of eve is that there are no rules. Ruthlessness is awarded and there is no room for the weak. You are merely making yourself look pathetic verone.

This is like pure hypocritical bull****.
These guys got bored and killed a few people. All pirates do it, and some even get praised for it. Take Zombie's picknick in Yulai for example. _________________________________ Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Sahwoolo Etoophie (mods@ccpgames.com) |

This seems the case. From a Pirate's perspective, when I kill a player via non-consenual PvP, I have done my job and I see it as part of the game. The player who got killed may view it as I just griefed him, and injured his playing experience.
So from his view point, I just griefed him and he is entitled to hold that opinion and perspective. So this is okay, but its not okay if I killed this player while he was participating in an event? I just don't get it.

Kehmor flames alot of people, including my Corp but that doesn't make his points any less valid, especially in this specific thread.
Piracy, for the most part, has no ethics. You can't kill a player, non-consenually, loot his ship one moment, then the next moment say "Ohh, he is in a Frigate event now, I guess I'll leave him alone".

Verone welcome to grief online maybe you should go playwow. And for verone for you to whine about ganking is rather ironic, or is your all so pro eve radio stance due to the large amount of free advertisement you got? I myself even availed of this but this does not mean pass up an opportunity maybe you will.
For those saying zomg overkill we only has those bs nearby so we were forced to use them even though lighter ships would have been more efficient.
And for those asking why did we post this some people wanted to know what happened fraps was the easiest way of showing it.
It also appears that the community really has dumped down with the exceptions of Kehmor, Verillion, Ikvar congrats your not verone / eve radio fan boys.
Look at this anyway you like we donĘt care what you think we had fun & made isk at the same time and thatĘs all that matters to us.

I feel compelled to post here.
An player run event takes a lot of time to organise and run. However, I can't say that crashing and trashing these events is out of the spirit of the game. You are very much welcome to do what you wish, and it is up to us (the organisers) to deal with these threats.
However, at what point will all these events stop being made? Soon enough people won't do them.
Ask yourself, is an EVE without these events, a richer or poorer EVE? Is the community enhanced by the destruction of these?
Those questions are for each to judge, but in my opinion trashing every event systematicaly is just going to kill an aspect of EVE which is struggling to flourish and is serverly undersupported within the game. And their loss will leave an irreperable hole in the game.
But, as I said before, I'm not calliing you names, or even saying you shouldn't do it. But I do call for you to think about the effect your actions will really have on the game.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. I think Verone doesn't actually write his true opinions. He writes what is politically correct for Eve and anyone who can sponsor him as an Eve Online poster boy.

not true at all, my orp are running an event soon ourselves, we will just take proper security measures above and beyond sticking guns on a miner ship and calling it a "gaurd.

Thats not what I meant.
I am merely saying that, a lot of people posting here are like "Trashing events is fine, even fun"
But, at some point they will stop - and even a decent sized security force can be beaten.
And if they stop, is this good? Is the fun really worth kicking this struggling part of EVE in the nuts?
I cant afford proper security, so I have to build my rep to get more cash. What happens if I get crashed and no one ever signs up again?
Im not asking for invulnerability, just some measure of acceptance for what we do, and therefore not the hunting of us to extinction.

The first time I've been involved with Eve-Radio or even listened to it was when I was on this show. I saw the thread on Eve-O and thought it would be good fun to get involved with.
Originally by: SasRipper It also appears that the community really has dumped down with the exceptions of Kehmor, Verillion, Ikvar congrats your not verone / eve radio fan boys.

What you care about doesn't concern me, I was stating my opinion. Whether or not you agree with me isn't the point.
The fact that you killed people means nothing to me, people get killed every day. It's the "LOlolOLol we killed teh neewbZ as they were doing an event, just to ruin their day!111" attitude that's lame.
Wrecking an event for a valid in character reason, like I said eariler in this thread is perfectly fine, doing it juat to wreck someone's day is pathetic.

Refusal? You assume too much.
Everything I post on these forums is true to how I feel, whether you agree with it or not, or choose to hurl abuse at me about it is your problem, not mine.
It's amusing how many times people who fail to grasp the point I'm trying to make throw that at me as an attempt at flaming.
Yes, I enjoy Eve. Yes, I enjoy being part of the community. Yes, I enjoy playing the game. Therefore I'm getting value for money with my subscription, so believe me when I say that when people hurl that one at me, it's funny because it couldn't be further from the truth.

I call BS mate. While some of the stuff you write may be true to your feelings, the majority of what I read from you seems fake and forced.
Its always politically correct, like you're playing to the tune of the governing body of CCP. Majority of stuff you write reminds me of a typical Politician. He smiles and waves to the big crowds, but when he gets his chance, he steals candy from kids away from the cameras.
There is only so much hypocrisy that you can show before people start seeing through the illusion. Its like you put on this huge morality act in the hopes of obtaining employment at CCP or something.
Truth of the matter Verone, is you're a stone-cold, blood thirsty killer and pirate. Those are your roots. It is why VETO has stopped merc contracts and are going back to piracy. But you can't be both. You can't be the 'Ambassador and Diplomat' to Eve online, and at the same time gut some worthless carebear pig's Hauler ingame, and expect people to take you seriously.

The fact that you disagree with my disagreement on the original poster's subject I don't disagree with. In fact, I agree with it and encourage you to share your disagreement by posting here in a structured manner.

I don't dispute that I'm a pirate, I don't dispute that I attempt to kill people. Sometimes it goes my way, sometimes it doesn't, that's the way of Eve.
I don't scam and rip people off in that respect out of personal preference, I never have as I value the trust I have to let people go after paying a ransom.
Simply put, I pirate, I kill, I am killed and I enjoy it. I play it my way just like everyone else does, and like all you guys I'm entitled to voice my opinion here, even if people don't agree with it.
I welcome constructive cirticism. As for trying to work at CCP? I won't go into too many details of my real life but rest assured I'm very satisfied with my job, and being a Maintenence Engineer is a whole different ballpark from working with Eve I should imagine.
I play Eve as a release, and would hate to work behind the scenes, to be honest. I don't expect to be taken seriously.

Hmm, well.
My mains a pirate most of the time and I've done my fair share of event wrecking. I don't glorify it by posting about it on the forums to make myself feel important but I can see how underachievers would feel the need to do so - espech if it gives them a chance to poke fun at Eve-Radio.
Personally, I believe the event should have had better planning and a contingency plan for something like this. A known player driven event by a high profile organisation like Eve-Radio is more likely to attract nagative attention than most anything else in Eve. Trouble should always be expected, regardless of where you are. If you can't prepare a counter to the possability of attack or betrayal, you deserve to go down in flames.
If you plan for the worst, it would take a very determined gang to really disrupt things and judging by the shrieking mews of the muppets that disrupted this party, they probably would have gotten bored and moved off to easier ganks quick sharpish had there been sufficient paranoia in play.
That said, if you can get away with it then you really should. Eve's harsh and everybody needs to realise the kids in this sandpit tend to carry machettes instead of lollypops.
