I have had terrible experiences trying to find a corp..and when I do I find one most if not all where all false promises.
The last corp I was in..had a weird ambience to say the least, everyone in the TS seems to think there is always a spy around. It just makes the gaming abient very awkard, and silent. I notice a recurring pattern in almost all Corps I join. Apart from that dealing with the big egos some players have..I dont know what to think
Literally every corp I have been in seems to think I am spy, what am I supposed to do? You have my API, im in your TS when I log and always transparent. |

Depends to be honest.
you have to find a fit thats good for your play style, chance are most large and even some small groups have a spy or two nothing can really be done about it.
That being said you can limit and mitigate the damages spies can do to your organization.
If your looking for a home in null send me a message or drop in my corp pub SO.FU Pub. im home after 5pm eastern normally .

What is a sane people?
On a more serious note. You will hear "spai" a lot when you ask questions. Think about what you are going to ask before you do. If you are asking things like "How many Titans does this alliance have?" or "FC what is our destination (before you even undock)?" you will be labeled as a spy and with good reason. Trust is established by getting to know the people in you corp/alliance. Talk to them in comms. Fly with them even if all you can do is fly a tackle frig.
Find a group that interests you. Pay close attention to the FC and follow his/her directions without question. Learn from them. When you aren't moving in a fleet is the time to ask your questions and seek guidance from the experienced players. As far as the "spai" thing goes, it gets used a lot in a joking manner. Don't let your feelings get hurt by people clowning around. This community can be very caustic but, can also be very caring about real things.
Good luck to you. |

You should join newbro friendly corporations, such as Eve University, Brave Newbies or Pandemic Horde. They have all the tools available to help new guys learn the game and have fun by doing it.

As someone who actively tries to recruit, and who likes to think he has a Corp filled with nice people, my advice would be to talk to the recruiters - actually talk to them I mean, not read their copy/pasted adverts. You can get a really good feel for a corps culture by how their recruiters communicate. There's all types of corps in eve with very different cultures, from the super srs tryhards who are disconcertingly militaristic to the social corps who just want to fly spaceships with friends. Finding the right group for you will take effort, but it's much easier if you have a genuine conversation with the representatives of the corps. |
