When i played eve before (on 7 day thing right now) my credit card kept getting wierd random charges for eve online, some for 30 dollars and some for 150+ and it kept happening over and over and eve support staff was less the helpfull. The most help i got was we will ban the account its doing it on then never heard back although the charges kept happening.
My only means of payment at the moment is really using a credit card online, a new one mind you since i had to deactivate the old one from eve. so im not sure where i stand on this issue.
Kind of wondering how to get time for the game. Id like to play but i mean the random eve charges really caused a lot of grief for me, it was odd it was just random charges for no real reason. I mean it wasn't even really monthly payments just like random 15$ followed by 2 45$ followed by 135$ all the way back down to 50$ every month, then i would phone up sort it out with visa and bam cycle starts over.
Any suggestions on what my options are?

You can pay with time cards, also there are other options if you log on to your "my account" pages. Sounds weird that you get random charges like that though, I haven't had any problems with the billing in my soon 4 years of playing. You sure it is charge for EVE-O and not something else?
Or did you select the "bill me yearly" option?
Help me help you. |

Mate I'd be on the phone to my bank..
It looks like someone is using your credit card.
Over the 4 account that I have and the years that I have played. I get paid the exact same charge every month. Nothing varys in the slightest. (Well apart from the exchange rate)
Check things out mate because there is something weird going on there.

Well i had two accounts at one point. Both kind of had coinciding info.
I had monthly for sure because i would get the 2 monthly charges then wierd random ones, and they looked identical to the others
For example
Jun. 2 USD [email protected] 148.89 Jun. 4 USD [email protected] 22.51 Jun. 4 USD [email protected] 22.51 Jun.5 USD [email protected] 22.51 Jun.16 USD 15.95@1,153228EVE-Onlinesubscription 17.24 Jun.29 USD [email protected] 17.19 Jul. 4 USD [email protected] 16.96 Jul. 5 USD [email protected] Jul. 16 USD [email protected] 17.34I
Thats a little messy but thats what one bill looked like.

Same here. The only oddity is that my second account was being billed in dollars (may still be). I think it was because I opened it during the first ^2 deal when I was on holiday in America. I've never bothered to correct it because..well..let's not go in to that here
But anyway in over three years I have never known the Eve payments company to do anything wrong so like the posters have said:Check your card. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

Go to the accounts page and change your subscription type. Note however that it's only available in certain countries and the UK is not one of them -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

1) Debit cards are excepted, 2) Paying with a credit card makes more sense as, by law, you have to be protected from fraud. If there are suspect entries on your CC bill, just ring up your CC company and get them cancelled and reversed...

You probably better contact CCP to investigate the matters and of course your bank. I advice you to switch to so-called virtual VISA credit cards with balance which can't go bellow 0 and keep the balance on this card as close as possible to 0 most of the time which means when you need to pay something - go to bank (or use online banking if available) and put the exact amount of money on this card... This way even if your card hacked/lost/whatever you won't lose much.

Eve is a scam. They take your money and all they give you is grinds, pain and death. -
If you go into your options menu, there's a difficulty slider. Put that all the way over to the easiest setting and you'll be fine. |
