Over the weekend had the strangest thing happen. I'm posting here in GD because I'm looking to know if anyone else was affected in the same way I was, and I did file a support ticket on it.
I undocked from a station in HiSec and it shot me out at a pretty good clip. I clicked to warp to a stargate... and nothing happened other than the ship kept going straight. I tried to re-dock, nothing happened. Tried to manually steer the ship, nothing happened. All navigation controls were dead, speed, direction, I could activate systems though.
I thought, well, maybe it's just my manual stuff not working. I had a destination set so I set the autopilot. It kept telling me 'Warping to ..." over and over, but the ship just kept going straight. I knew I shouldn't have paid for those cheap repairs... idiots at the station probably forgot to re-connect my navigational systems... figures.
So, after searching the forums for anything like that (didn't find anything),I tried ejecting and re-entering the ship, I logged out 'safely', closed launcher, cleared cache, loaded launcher and game. I found myself a long distance out in the middle of no place, dead stop. I expected that due to the 'safe log out' option. However, ship still no moving... really going to give the repair techs a piece of my mind now.
So, put in a support ticket and then repeated the log out option, but then shut down the entire PC and began from scratch. When I got back into the game I was in my home station hangar bay... I don't know if that's what the ticket did for me, or if it just figured out my systems were hosed or what. Everything worked fine after that.
Anyone else experience and completely unpilotable ship?

It sounds like your client desync'd but you didn't get the socket closed notification. It's happened to me a few times before.

Wouldn't the full log-out and back in have re-sync'd?

Wouldn't the full log-out and back in have re-sync'd? Sure unless you were still having connection issues when you logged back in and it desync'd again in the process of logging in.

I've had similar instances where it behaved as if I was sending keyboard (manual piloting) input and it did the same thing or similar. Ships just goes and goes and wont dock or warp because the manual input cancels any command you send instantly. For me it's always been a matter of tapping around on on all the manual piloting keys till it stops. Its strange though because it never registers as a stuck key outside of eve. For some reason eve thinks that its detected a press but not a release and will keep behaving as if the key is held until it detects a release command for that key.

Just breathe heavily into the cartridge. Sure it'll speed up eroding it, but that vapor connection is so satisfying - short term.
