My account was recently hacked and I could not log on. I put a ticket in to resolve this and they decided to ban my account. And now they know what happened, and it was not my fault, they refuse to return it to me. I have been playing for several years now and out of no where they ban me for something I did not do.
If anyone has any advice on what I can do to get it back, PLEASE post. I miss Eve dearly and it's outrageous that CCP stole my account.
Advice to any hackers reading this: Don't worry about getting caught, because whatever you do will be held against the owners of the accounts. And thier accounts will be taken from them.

There must be a way. We pay for these accounts. But what's the point if CCP decides they want to take it away for something you have not done and all the money and time is wasted.

Won't they awlays return the account to the person who holds the original email and credit card accounts used to initially pay for the game?

MMO's like to stick a little clause in their EULA that states if anything happens to your account.. tis your fault.. if its hacked.. its your fault.. if it gets stolen.. its your fault.. if the moon turns to cheese its your fault.. and they will close/de-activate or otherwise ban the account if they find you are at fault.
Remember.. its always the paying customers fault

You can ask for Senior GM to review your petition if you havent already. Then you can also try to e-mail to Kieron (CCP's Community Manager) and ask him for help.

They should post that clearly on thier main site for all newcomers. That if anyone in the world tampers with thier account, they will lose everything. Maybe if some hacker started hacking all the accounts, they would change thier tone.

Ok I sent the manager an e-mail and included the GM's convo, denying me my account. If anyone can think of any other way on Gods green earth to help me, I beg you to please post it.

Chances are and im sorry to say this
That the account has proof of accoutn sharing, likely hood u where not hacked, whoever stole ur assets told them u said u could have them, he's likely recived a temp ban and you have been perma banned for accoutn sharing
Or... they asked you for the orginal cd key/email and u failed to provide either, meaing the accoutn wasnt owned by u.
CCP do not ban lightly and they make sure its the right persons account

Wrong. I have been in talks with them all week long, everyday. They know what happened. They know the account was not shared. Yet they didn't have a problem banning my account when they found out it wasn't me. But now they refuse to return it.

What is the exact reason they refuse to return it though? There HAS to be a reason for it. You haven't stated it yet to us.

Same thing happened to a corp mate back in the imperial space corporation. He petitioned it and it turned out that his account had been traced to a person that did some not nice things, aka the hacker used the account for phishing and such. After some replying to gm's and giving them infomation about the IP address and some techno crap he got his account back. --------

CCP is not going to ban accounts for no reason. Simple explanation: they will lose money.
They ban accounts when they know someone has done something wrong, or they believe someone has done something wrong. yes, innocent people will get screwed sometimes, but that's how this world works.

I would guess (could be wrong) that you used some 3rd party programs which logged your password and sent it to the "hacker".

CCP Is rather reasonable when it comes to problems like these. You just need to get in contact with them and work it out. I got my account hacked (boo) and after supplying all the information requested I got my account back, with luckily no damage done. Just get in contact with them man :) ~Dr. *butseks* |

Think its normal procedure (sp) to ban accounts while the investigation is going on and until its over, so no more harm can be done to it. --- It have always fallen to a few to sacrifice for the good of many |

They have investigated it acording to a very kind GM that has been helping me. The problem isn't the GM, it's who they report to that have the final say in these things. After the investigation they still refuse to return it. I'm starting to go into withdraw.

I know you won't like me saying this but here it is:
If your account was hacked, 99,9 % chance says that it was your own fault. Whether it was through means of you downloading a 3rd party software that had a keylogger or sharing your account information somehow. Maybe a virus.
Something like that DID happen to you, because otherwise it's not possible, no seriously it isn't.

there was an instance where a link sent you to a site that automatically downloaded a keylogger onto your computer spammed onto EVE forums using a hole in IE. I got stuck with that virus but after changing my password with a different computer and a few questions managed to remove it.
Unfortunately, he might not ahve done anything but go to a site and gotten an EVE based keylogger without realizing it. ______________________

Well, I hate to point out the obvious here and sound like an arse, cause I don't mean to...but, who clicked that link?
You did, thus it's your own fault

Tbh, it's easy to avoid.
Change your password once a week, don't go to strange sites regardless of how they promise you easy isk etc. Don't let ANYONE have your account info, not even your friends.
And finally, use your brain - Think before you act, and you'll be just fine.

actually i clicked on the link BEFORE it got spammed across the boards, when it was posted in only 1 or two places and claimed to be legitimate "i can't remember details". I mean come on, who avoids all links to any website that even has 1 in 1 million chance of having virus. Nothing downloaded, it didn't claim to be selling or doing any hacks "from outside, once you got in it was suspicious, but by then it was too late". ______________________

Why do you need someone else to tell you whether or not to click a link?`I find that a little disturbing. If I have to open a strange link I use my operah browser which is uber boosted in terms of security settings..nothing is allowed to happen unless I let it.
Again it's really a matter of thinking before you act. Usually I just avoid all them weird links altogether.
