Well, Hello guys, I was a player from serenity (Don't look down upon me for this ! I admit that I'm poor in English but I still think that doen't matter), and I'm here to give my advice on some aspests of EVE playing . I really hope that EVE can have a better future. First , about Tutorials, I don't know whether the "System of Chance" is a asuccess or not, but many players in serenity thinks it's not attracting, maybe it's a kind of "Freedom", but I really think it's not interesting enough. Many new players entered the world of EVE, but due to the massive amount of information and "terrible Tutorial", our attitude towards many new players is "survive the Tutorial". If you can mix the Tutorial with a story, for example: a secret escort mission of Caldari in Gallantian area. The training of the pilot is said by a Caldarian Captain, like the use of "Observing", the use of "Approaching" and the use of "" (I think it will be better if all of those buttons can be shown brightly and the Captain can be seen in a small screen), then with the enemy engaging, the pilot have to lock the enemy and destroy them. Then the use of "Orbiting" and "Keep the range of" and many other ways of fighting can be taught in the battle. This may be more interesting than the "System of Chance" and I believe there will be more players who can "survive the Tutorial" and bring more players to EVE. The next thing, more contents in stations, I think many old players AFKed for they are not skilled enough and just want to sit in the station and wait for their skill training (they usually don't want to spend money on skills ) and then got bored. I believe that there are many players staying in station and just get online to change their skill lines, if you can "Clean the air in the station" sooner, bring the small games like cards, chess, managing a restaurant ,managing a bar, grow some crops (and dancing ?), this will make the life in EVE more realistic, and we can get a sense of belonging in EVE(just like Grand Thief Auto). I think the "New docking transition" is a good step toward "Improving the sense of belonging", it gives us a more living station. The ships in EVE is already balance enough (Oh, I may have forgotten the Amarr Capital Ships~2333333),the living universe doen't mean balanced or great amount kinds of ships,it means more ways of playing, more things to do. Well, you must have known Starcraft, the Terran SCV is used to building and mining. Now the players mining in EVE is just like the Terran SCV in Starcraft, goes to the asteriod belts and lock an valuble asteriod, click on the lazer mining component, then wait for the cargo/mining hold be filled, then go back. What can we say about this? Can it just be concluded by "BORING"? Do you know a game called "Galaxy on Fire"? I think even it's way of mining is better than EVE! And you must have heard of "Script"(May be it's rare in Tranqulity, but it's already terrible in Serenity), how to solve this problem? I don't know, but keeping the mining way like this can never solve this problem. All right, this is all I can say this time, if I can have the next chance, I will write more advice next time.

Hello and welcome to Tranquility.
Yes the state of the tutorials could be much better. In my opinion it's been reworked too much by CCP Dev's and is becoming less and less of a tutorial the more they mess with it.
Most players had great expectations for WIS / Incarna but unfortunately CCP dropped the ball big time on that one which pissed off a majority of the playerbase. That was the 2011 Summer Of Rage. More than likely it will be years before CCP even thinks about touching that aspect of the game again.
Mining. I remember the days of old seeing large fleets of Hulks and Orca's clearing out Asteroid Belts in a lot of High Sec systems. Now it's just an occasional Mining Barge and a few Mining Frigates. I don't know how it is in Serenity, but here thanks to the efforts of CODE, Mining in Tranquility is now anything but boring.
Anyway, hope you have a long and rewarding career here in Tranquility and thanks for posting.

English skills don't matter, we're from all around the world here. Just edit your post a little so there are some breaks between sections of text. Nobody around here can read more than three lines of text at once. We have good reasons (Attention Deficit Disorder; busy; already stared at a screen at work all day; getting old and eyesight is failing; Drunken Bladder Syndrome; can't be arsed; just came here to post a zinger, not read a bunch of stuff; various combinations of the above; etc.)

The original tutorial had fundamental issues with the way EVE was designed: it's linear and misses things (directional scan). CCP is trying to get rid of it entirely (explained here). This game is not designed to be something played from beginning to end. It is something to be explored, and a place full of people to meet things to find and do.
Stations which look as good as the rest of EVE and have a lot of things to do are very expensive to make. It is kind of a shame that we're all dressed up with nowhere to go, but last time they tried to make somewhere to go, they made a real mess of things.
Mining does need serious work. It's too easily automated right now, and invites humans to put the game in the background and do other things. There is an old thread with some suggestions in it. We have problems with scripts. The design of mining makes them easy to make and use. One solution for players is to put a 500MN microwarpdrive on a fast cruiser and bump the mining barges away from whatever they were doing. Another is to load catalysts for maximum damage, get close to the barge, overheat weapons, and fire. The catalyst pilot loses a very cheap catalyst, the barge pilot loses an expensive mining barge. There are some calculations to do first to make sure you can kill the barge before CONCORD kills you. Or you could use Thrashers.
What happens to your Sesame Credits score if you play EVE?

So in short, better tutorial with actual story and cutscenes maybe, Walking in Stations (WiS), and mining overhaul.
All of those ideas appears to have been abandoned by CCP ages ago. Sorry to disappoint you.

EVE tutorial.. i think it's called Google. Or TS. In-game chats are good too.
Main problem with the beginner experience is not encouraging people into joining a corp or a community fast enough. Maybe not after the first day (information overload), but 1-2 weeks into the game a corp-themed tutorial mission should pop up. |

This.
Actually I think the tutorial is fine. And was fine back in 2010. I had no fundamental issues getting in. Sure, it took a little effort to get acquainted with the myriad of things that exist in EVE. But all it really takes is the insight, that you cannot get to know everything in a day. Or two.
I think that is a good thing for a game. But many want it easy and quick nowadays and this peculiar thing called patience is in short supply.
Remove insurance.
