Why is there no warning when you join warfare space? so i spent an hour and a lot of isk to join the caldari militia, but someone suggested i joina different militia.
so headed to join a different corp and i was immediately killed on my way there.
i know its my fault but this game is DUMB sometimes because how are new player supposed to remember every rule? are we supposed to waste our time learning everything the hard way when trying new things? and there is no warning that you will be destroyed we are supposed to KNOW what we are doing at ALL times?

The point is that you are not supposed to.
Speaking as a player from 2009, even I cannot remember more than half of the innumerable facets of the game with more than so-so certainty (it does getter better after a few drinks though... at least... that is my perception anyways).
This almost guarantees that mistakes will be made, lessons will be taught, and a degree of "unpredictability" will always be there.
How did you Veterans start?

You aren't safe in your own space while in FW either.
I've killed quite a few people that were missioning in corps that were in FW or doing other stuff.

All of this is accurate, but if there's actually no warning or explanation of Factional Warfare when joining it/joining a corp that's participating then that is maybe one more thing that CCP could do to make the game more new player friendly. |

Joining FW tab tells you 'This comes with specific rules of engagement' in the second paragraph. The first paragraph tells you who you are at war with if you join in the current station.
Clicking on the rules of engagement tells you that you can be shot at any time.
This is a simple case of lack of common sense and lack of basic reading. |

Sounds like you got what you deserved traitor, not that we appear to be missing out on much if basic reading comprehension is beyond your grasp. It's not like there is a pop-up every time you jump into hostile space warning you that you're considered an enemy and will be shot if you don't leave. Or, as others have mentioned, the rules of engagement are quite clearly laid out for you when you join and can be read again at your leisure.

It tells you on the map where the empires hold sov. Regardless of that, there is no where you cant be hunted by the enemy faction. There's a guy who camps hek undock despite being amarr militia.
Its not like the game expects you to know, but a bit of common sense should tell you to check your route and stay frosty.

What country do you live in? Okay now tell me what countries would deny your passport if you tried to visit them. Bet you couldn't do it without looking it up first.
Eve is not a game, it is a simulation of life. Life is complicated and learning things takes time and effort. Just because your character skill is over 100m doesn't mean you actually know how to play. It's unfortunate you look at this negatively instead of a learning experience. There is this kind of information out there, you just have to look or ask.

Tashi Neruu wrote:i guess eve isnt designed to be fun its designed to chop your hand off any chance it gets The others have been shall we say a little harsh in their responses but I agree with them in principal.
There is significant information in the game on Faction Warfare and most of that is given when you sign on, if you bother to read the information provided. See unlike virtually every other game in existence EvE is not one where you can click OK and not read those little pop up information windows when you start into a new portion of the game.
EvE is also a game that rewards those who seek out information from sources outside the game and CCP likes it that way. CCP like to have players involved in the game an even refuses to add certain features to the game because doing so would render the efforts of the player base useless perhaps the most notable of these are the fitting tools EvE HQ, EFT and PYFA. From that perspective less than a minute with a search engine yielded these results.
EvE University Faction Warefare Page. Brave introduction to faction warfare. A Reddit article on faction warfare for dummies (yes their title not mine).
For a map of EvE and what is going on with faction warfare space, nul sov or virtually anything else in the game of EvE there is Dot Lan maps.
In the end while I understand your concerns and your frustrations you just learned the single most important lesson in EvE, search the internet for the information the game will not give you.

You're immortal. If your hand gets chopped off - self destruct and you get: 1 - fresh clone (w/ all hands included free of charge) 2 - free access to all previously acquired skills / skill points 3 - a FREE SHIP (yeah - I know right??) 4 - 1 tritanium
That seems more than fair to me.
As a note to the OP - losses in this game are real(ish). You actually do lose game stuff when you make mistakes. Other games you don't, so click through and then complain is OK. In eve, once your stuff goes poof - it's gone - (hunt for red October voice) "Click through is possible, but not recommended"
Dust yourself off, take a deep breath, keep going - that's how you win eve! |

There's nothing compulsory about joining FW. As a new players, it's totally avoidable. You don't need to know the rules of it, it remember all the things about it.
However, with everything Eve, if you make the decision to expand into a new area of gameplay, then it's your responsibility to understand what that means and what the rules are.
But only at the point from when you voluntarily make that part of your game. You are never required to. |

I've killed quite a few people that were missioning in corps that were in FW or doing other stuff. Sounds like fun ... and quite profitable. Oh all those FW n00bs moving their fresh farmed LP stuff from Nourvakaiken to Jita in frigates....
to OP:
Tashi Neruu wrote:Why is there no warning when you join warfare space? It is right on the upper middle of your screen: 'Tashi Neruu you are enemy to our nation and this is your last visit to this space' or something like that.
Tashi Neruu wrote:so i spent an hour and a lot of isk to join the caldari militia, but someone suggested i joina different militia. What did you spend 1 hour (!) and lot of ISK (!) on? You only press 1 button and you are in! Oh, it is 2 buttons! But ok.
Tashi Neruu wrote:so headed to join a different corp and i was immediately killed on my way there. I think you either: - tried to join Gallente/Minmatar militia while being member of Caldary FW and killed by NPC in enemy space. - was killed by players from opposite militia
Anyway. When you were joining militia you had popup window with warning where they said you that you are joining war and can be attacked everywhere. Read paper before signing it!
