So some one told me CCP is going to make it so your Rorq will have to be on grid in order to receive the boost from it.... There may have been a news letter which I had missed....
However requiring your rorq to be on grid is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. If this is in fact true it is probably the dumbest thing CCP has ever done... Regardless of the ability to tether your fleet. No one will want to fly the rorq after that, if this is the case... if this is in fact true... For the love of god CCP don't kill the rorq. a lot of mines will be totally and fully screwed because of that. I for one will be very unhappy at the amount of time wasted training a ship that alliances will no longer allow us to use because of that. You will not be able to cancel the bastion required for it... even with a 5 min invulnerability you will lose your rorq
So if that is in fact true I would like every one to voice their opinion on that. Please don't do that, allow us to keep our rorqs as an off grid booster
Again requiring the rorq to be an on grid booster is just out right stupid... Please don't do that CCP, keep it an off grid booster |

Change tactics and fits. Battle-RR fit your Rorqual and fly PvP fitted Skiffs. You will be able to take on random gangs that attack.

The orca is a solely boosting ship and the Rorq is solely a boosting ship. We don't need the only two mining ships above cruiser size to do the same thing. So silly and redundant. |

Why do people continue to post their ship whinge-of-the-day threads in GD?
It's not like there isn't an appropriate forum...
"So some one told me..." -do your own research-
" I for one will be very unhappy..." -bleating won't help make your point-
" I would like every one to voice their opinion..." -because I am unwilling to actually do any research and just want to bleat-
"just out right stupid..." -couldn't have said it better myself-
your comments just confirms this whole idea is totally pathetic

I loled at that, it means you are really new to this game if you think that is stupidest thing, but maybe you dont hear about others things since people dont cry and they adapt, here is example ccp killed whole wh ecosystem of krabers and people hunting krabers in wh loosing a lot subs and even more people leaving whs. :D just one small example
Also they took **** on their foundation that says "Risk vs reward, more risk more reward" and a lot other things on which this game was founded on |

I remember watching a fleet of Mackinaws unload on a gang of interceptors that thought they could get an easy kill. 75 T2 light drones is a lot of DPS.

I expect that making them immobile will be going away (at least as part of the boosting - it may stay as part of their defensive capabilities). But unless you have access to information none of the rest of us have seen, why don't we wait until the changes are actually posted before we Chicken Little all over ourselves.

Ah well there's a reason for that.
It's like this, players who are interested in the game, and keep up with the game, including dev blogs etc, knew about this months ago!
Now we have someone whining about it, who reckons they'll be affected by it, but has no interest in keeping up with developments.
All the replies reflect the fact that the op doesn't give a **** about keeping up. |

Really, if you don't own a Rorqual & pilot, you really shouldn't be commenting on them.
They have so many problems, that I will try to avoid getting into yet again, and worse, there is zero game-play in boosting.
CCPs proposed solutions look pretty ridiculous on paper. |

Maybe its time for a mining barge that can take 3 boost mods, you know like a BC for miners that can mine less and boost. If CCP what to make it all the same, well then they should do it properly. |

You guys are going to think I've lost my marbles hearing something like this from me...
How about Miners actually think about defending their assets like any other corporate asset. Does everyone have to mining. Couldn't there be a stealth bomber or two sitting off the belt at distance and when some ganker or small gang zips in and starts taking pot shots at your assets, you bounce screens or your guards get into position and lay waste to the attackers?
If this happens a few times a month, the terror of potentially losing your fancy miner blasting ships would make about half the miner blasting community go find softer targets to pick on.
De-freaking-fend yourselves!
The idea of a solo Rorq pilot is absolutely ludicrous. You have buddies, use them!

This is what I was told:
There is barely any active game-play involved in mining. There is no active game-play involved in guarding a mining fleet.
Of course that still doesn't address the Rorqual's issues. |

my wish and personal favourite would be mountable point defenses. maybe give it it-¦s own fitting system to avoid easy predictability. tell me if that doesn-¦t make any sense. :p
it would he a great placeholder and NOT sudden invulnerability, which makes no sense anyway...
oh and i hope it still consumes heavy water...

Apples vs Oranges
To defend with ships not designed for defense is like asking a PvP fitted ship to take on level 5 missions.
One option is to have a true defense fleet handy but that is boring and not practical in the gameplay sense.
There really are only 2 viable options for the Rorq, if they make it have to be on-grid... Give super, and I mean super, combat bonuses to Rorq something along the lines 100% Drone Dmg/HPs per mining vessel in fleet or Go with a stealth mode Rorq that allows them to cloak while the industrial core is engaged. (limits could be placed on it like a special fuel needed to stay cloaked while the core is engaged for balance) or Both |
