Hello,
When I'm launching the game, I have sound ONLY in the game. It cuts the sound of everything else, like Ts3, or even my alt eve online screen too.
I have this only since the patch I think ...
I don't find solutions (I already installed sound drivers etc...). |

Have the same issue.
When I launch eve just the first client has sound and all other eve clients and other sound producing programs/applications all go mute, including windows, skype, chrome, other games etc.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the sound card, disconnecting and reconnecting the sound card, switched sound card. Nothing has helped.
Once I've closed eve down sound returns to normal.
Edit: Disabling eve audio removes the issue..... sounds like I'm going back to silent eve.. ;) |

I have the same problem.
It is very annoying
I tried to turn off sound in one window - and sound in another worked fine. If I turned off both windows - system sound works good.
I have tried to play music in browser and player in the same time - it worked |

having this same problem
i've found that if you open the program prior to starting the eve client, sound will work just fine. anything opened after you open eve will be muted though
so as a temp work-around just open the programs either before you start eve, or while restarting the client |

Yes but it doesn't solve the fact you can't have sound on 2 eve online instances ^^. But I saw on the forum, thanks to Ruslan Hirl, this bug is for all usb audio devices or things like that. I'm using a PC 363D with external audio card indeed.
They are trying to fix it. We have to wait. |

I'm using the same headphones/usb soundcard as you... might have something to do with that... |

I am also having this issue. I however am not using a USB sound device. I'm using an ASUS Xonar DG sound card. |

Hello I have the same problem. Only one client is with sound and cuts out almost all other outputs as well (chrome, spotify, team speak etc...). I do not have 5.1 sound system. Using realtek opt. output and carat ruby external DAC.
It was fine for over two years now. |

using an ASUS xonar essence STX personally so there does seem to be a trend
if i disable audio in-game it will allow audio from other sources again. it cuts out spotify after a certain period of time regardless, so i just play without sound now
if devs / mods have anything that users can test to make this go away faster that'd be tops. pretty annoying problem |

ASUS Zonar Essence STX here. Same issue. Eve takes sounds over everything. Apps need to be open before Eve to work. |

Same problem right after 118.7 - no sounds outside EVE after at least 1 EVE Window launched. Besides, no sound on other EVE windows if there is more than one. With EVE client shut down - everything is OK. Repeatable. ASUS Xonat ST (PCI), Win7 SP1. |

P.S. Seems like other applications must be launched before EVE client start if we want to have another sounds.
Exact same issue here (Asus xonar dg / Win7sp1).
Disabling other devices (usually hdmi output) but the one used workarounds the issue for now (as mentioned in the other thread).

Well, disabling other sound devices does not look like a fix. What if need, for example, HDMI output?
I reallly like CCP for entertaining us with ridiculous bugs over years and years... Never seen any game which made my sounds switched off But EVE coders managed to do that! Yeah! |

Yeah... that workaround doesn't work for me either...
CCP, please fit it ASAP... |

+1 here.
Asus Z87 on-board sound.
Workaround for watching youtube etc is to mute the ingame sounds after opening the youtube page and then re-enable the in-game sound...p.i.t.a.
Also it's muting jabber and slack pings...so basically it's best to just play without in-game sound for now.
but what would I know, I'm just a salvager

Seem like setting 44khz both in Asus device settings and in Windows audio settings fixes the problem. |

Same problem, Z87 motherboard audio. Temporal solution that i found is to plug in headphones in front panel of a computer. Also, after unplugging phones, sound temporaly works in any active browser tabs.

Same here with Xonar DG SI. Problem began when I switched to the new launcher this month, it was all fine with the old one in June. Petitioned anyway.
Update: Unchecked "enable audio" box in EVE, here comes the sound. Checked it again --> **** you buddy. gg |
