Hey Everyone,
Quick question here... I've been ratting in null sec with one character, able to do Ishtar AFK mode with my heavies and no problems at all. But the second I tried with my other character they instantly went for my Drones automatically. Nothing changed about my fit, nothing changed about how I ran rats... Just instantly pops my drones on one character, but doesn't do anything to my other.
Is there some kind of glitch behind this or are there certain days NPC's shoot drones or what? Because I'm actually really confused by this. Yes I know the mechanic changed for NPC's to shoot drones now but when it works on one character then is completely opposite character, there is something really glitchy or I'm missing something here...
So any input would be awesome!

Assuming both your characters are flying the same ship in the same space against the same NPCs, I would check whether they have the same skills and implants, especially any that change EHP, sig radius, repair rate, or speed.
If the two characters are in different space, you need to be aware that some NPCs are far more likely to target drones, such as sleepers, Angels, Mordus and Guristas.
Other than that I have no idea.

One of my characters does have better shield skills so would that cause the NPC's to go directly for the drones then? Because other than that everything is almost exactly the same between the two characters since they fly in the same space. |

Try this trick: get to a safe and deploy drones, eject from ship and then get back in and reconnect.
Apparently this means ur drones never get aggro until you log |

Encounters can roll a guaranteed aggro chance, if it rolls, the encounter will do the aggro on a fixed timer for the entire encounter. its amazingly tedious if the encounter is the gurista ded 7 and the timer rolls it fastest option (which is like 30 seconds) - that means you get to shoot the shields of many battleships in 4 pockets twice if you want to keep your drones, as everything will yellowbox every 30 seconds.
Happens lots in wormholes (though not always as harsh as a 30 second timer), occasionally in deds (on different timers too), rarely in missions and really rare in anoms. In 1000 anoms I only saw repeated aggro to drones a few times - I knew all the encounters and switched drones to aggressive only for jamming waves, the only oddity is that I used sentries, almost never heavies.
IMO if you warped back into the same aggro anom to check that you had / hadn't fixed the problem, then yes you could suddenly believe there was a big difference over characters. I'd just try again in more anoms.
