I had a crazy idea last night after reading some of the flamebait and trolling on the forums about different alliances and thier 'exploitation' of Static Respawn and Static Location of Complexes.
First option, the most drastic and most likely on to be most screamed at to not be implemented. 1. Remove Static location for Complexes. a. They must be found through exploration. b. They do not show up with a beacon on the Overview. c. Randomize locations within Constellations. d. Evenly distribute them among the regions. i. If a Constellation is controlled by Guristas, for instance then Gurista Complexes will be generated. ii. if a Constellation/System is not claimed by a particular NPC group then Rogue Drone or Exploratory NPC Type encounters will occur. e. Once a Complex has been completed it dissapears, you did actually blow everything and everyone up afterall f. (Optional) Randomize the Spawn times of the Complexes. i. Beginning on the Monday of each week (Arbitrary) all systems have a chance to spawn a Complex to be discovered, once it has been completed, that system then has a random spawn time to have another complex in the system the rest of the week. ii. So, take one 5 system Constellation, beginning monday each system has a random spawn chance of a complex. If noone explores for it it remains for a random period of time. If it is discovered and then run, then that sytems respawn for a complex is reset, it could spawn in an hour, or could spawn 6 days from completion. Also the same complex does not hafta respawn, could be a different encounter entirely, and the location within the system changes.
Side Effects: 1. Exploration actually becomes usefull to Alliances controlling regions of 0.0 space. 2. Reduces chances of Monopoly due to timezone issues. 3. Gives All systems and regions a chance to have good income generation from Complexes. 4. if Implemented properly, could open up a lucrative career path for Explorers, and make thier skills valuable to an alliance, via the selling of locations, which of course are only temporary (well could be).
Second Possible Change, less drastic but still feasable.
1. Randomize the spawn time of the Entry Keys for Complexes. 2. Remove the timer from the Daily server maintenance timers. Everquest was able to do this to remove monopolization of specific resources/spawns, which were on set timers after the removal of a spawn.
Any thoughts, comments, constructive changes?
