I'm not sure if this has ever been seriously considered, but every time I see a ship with a 5 m3 drone bay, I feel like it's a bit of a waste. Frankly, the Helios drone damage bonus makes me chuckle.
It's because the other cov ops ship get 3 high slots and a weapon hardpoint :) (I think so anyway - I don't pay much attention to non-gallente ships).
And ph33r that single hobgoblin II, I've used it before (blew up a buzzard, but the claok burned with the ship )
Originally by: Jim McGregor I felt the disturbance... it was like a million voices suddenly stopped whining for a second. Unfortunantly it then continued.

How about adding something to make the game more interesting? Make various sizes of suicide drones; think one use drones that get within 0m of an enemy ship and explode smartbomb style. Would be pretty cool to have assuming they have decent damage and would also help deter blobs.

They have those. They're called missiles.

I wouldn't be against swapping drones from cargo to dronebay in space, with one exception:
You could only transfer drones while you had none of your drones launched.
This would prevent the situation of frigates launching 5 heavies, as they couldn't fit it in their dronebays.
It should also take time to load the drones into the bay, similar to the concept of reloading guns or missiles. ___________________________________________________ "I'm an engineer, not a miracle worker!" - Scotty, Star Trek: TOS

You could still launch a drone, warp out, warp back, move drone to dronebay, launche drone, warp out, etc and then scoop to dronebay, launch, scoop to dronebay, launch, etc
Eh vola, ishkur/arbi/any ship with at least 25m¦ drone bay camping spot with 5 heavies.
It's already possible, but there you need at least another player helping you or a station in that system.

I wonder how a discussion about maybe introducing a new size class of drones turned into a thread about storing drones in the cargo hold (which seems really silly, TBH).
If anything, I'd prefer to have a cargo bay be ONLY for cargo. I'd even keep loadable ammunition out of it, and have an ammo bay on each ship. That way cargo is really cargo, not things like ammunition or cap charges or what have you.
Anyway, I still like the idea of 1m3 speedy drones.
