I think it would be good to see the rare ships' info easier than searching through the market tabs, so I would implement these 2 new tabs for the ship tree:
"Uncategorized" This tab would contain every ship that is "available" for player use. Gnosis, Zepyr, the luxury yachts, special editions and even the Polaris ships. Everything that ever existed in the game.
"General hostile" This tap would give some info about the npc ships that aren't available and not a reskinned version of player ships. Every rogue drone, seekers, drifters, Angel ships that players cant fly, etc. |

2 Questions
1. Why do we need to see information on these ships? If you hit show info you get nothing spectacular in terms of details in the first place. No stats or anything just a cheap one liner description.
2. Why the market tab? Given the market insinuates intent for the ships to either be sold or will be available to sell. Im not 100% sure on this but cant Supercapitals be constructed Inside Keepstars after the full release? which means even previously useless market slots for the Nyx and so on could be used as well now leaving fewer blank ticket items like AT Ships that youll never see listed on the regular market.

you do understand she is asking for this to be added to the ISIS not the market right? they are already listed in the market
as for the idea i think this would cause too much clutter in a system that was meant to streamline the understanding of ships for newbros

Also the rogue drones have really interesting designs, but we barely can see the models during fight, especially if they blow up in an average 5 seconds. Putting these on the ship tree would allow players to see them while sitting around on stations if they are interested. Also, I think this would need very minimal work from the devs, since it has absolutely no effect on the gameplay.
2: Currently the market is the only way (unless someone gives you a list) to find unique ships like the Zephyr for example, by opening the ship folders one by one to see what they contain. We could see them collected in the ship tree.
Lugh Crow-Slave wrote:i think this would cause too much clutter in a system that was meant to streamline the understanding of ships for newbros I don't agree, putting them on a separate page won't confuse people, especially because most of these ships are independent from the usual streamlines, they only need Spaceship Command I to fly. This is mostly a collection to show all ships that are in the game. |

No stats or anything just a cheap one liner description. Because this is soon going to be harder to access with the IGB gone. This site holds very valuable information for when you are new and have not memorized the damage certain NPC deal and which damage types to use against certain NPC, among other things.

You dont need an entry for every npc ship, not yet at least. Npc's as they are now are one dimensional enough all you need to know is the factions resist profile and damage types. This would save a huge amount of time over the op's idea because of the sheer volume of npc rat types but does the same job.
If however npc's are overhauled to have a lot more depth, this may be useful. Though if they do i hope npc's have stats and behaviour based on player ships, mostly have general names like 'angel frigate/rifter/initiate' and the only uniquely named rats are actually something special (like a legendary monster). You identify a ship by knowing what the real one does and the only ones you need in the database are the ones that cannot be flown by capsuleers.
This approach is more intuitive to players and the skills are transferable to pvp.

omg yes that would be amazing. cuz ive seen plenty of gnosis ships around and stuff like that and i really really hate having to go through the market or typing the ship name every single time i want to look at its stats. i think that this should be implemented

Rogue Drones: These ships blah blah origin. They use Railgun technology as their primary weapon and tend towards buffer tanking on hull. They are known to be generally weak to.... etc. (Stats listed here not correct, simply examples) Not very relevant now, but if they ever start doing NPC ships properly would make a lot of sense to already have it sorted.
And it would reduce reliance on 3rd party websites for something that should be available as in game information. |

One example: Federation Navy Orion compared to other Federation Navy BS. Notice the massive difference between Kinetic resistance for their armor. Especially for these edge cases an overview like that page or implemented in the ISIS could be interesting once the IGB is gone.

For sure the SoCT line of ships is becoming larger. We have shuttle, destroyer and battlecruiser now. Maybe add frigate and cruiser to flesh it out and to add a tab.

Completely agree that every ship you can buy should appear somewhere in the ship tree. |
