I was talking to some Corp Mates about having to either set an alarm clock and wake up others in the house, or try to remember when either that PoS refinery finishes its cycle, or that shiny new ship comes out of production, and how frustrating it can be not remembering why your alarm clock is going off at an odd time. So I though to myself; "Why not have an In-Game alarm clock that can be customized to display a message of why its going off!" Something as simple as a confirmation box, saying something like: "PoS Refinery cycle finished." or "Production of _______ has finished." and to dismiss it you have to click either an "Okay" button or a "Snooze" button which would remind you in ten minutes again.
And yes, I know the G15 keyboard has the timer/stopwatch, but again; you have to remember why that timer is going. (I have a short memory span at times, and I become distracted easily)

Yeah, something that alerts you when research, manufacturing, anything with a time delay has finished, would be nice. ----- CCP: Please make ship loot to drop in a can next to the wrecks. Edit: On the test server you can now salvage wrecks with loot. After a succesfull salvage the loot is left in a jetcan. |

For this problem we have say to our POS directors to write a mail for each system where POS are installed, specifing the next check day and what item needed, time of production and so on.
However, the best solution is remote monitoring and remote manage (ex. for standing and password setting) and a table in the corporation window with the current item of each POS!! When a POS is under resource a flag/color change. This Monitoring can be a new button :) named Starbase Management.
CCP can you satisfy this request?

To take it a step further, let the corporation define some timers. Then an officer could select and assign them to members.
To take it to the very NEXT step, it could be a corporate schedule with general responsibilities organized. And have a role for it. Like timesheet supervision. Let people log what they they do and set deadlines with a scheduling app.

My belief is that all those odd timed events are really a prompt for people to have more partners involved in a project such as a POS chain. The goal of any mechanism involved in the various economies is to promote player to player interaction and a simulacrum of trade.
That way, people spend a few minutes covering different shifts between doing other things. The idea of waiting for anything in EVE is kindof silly. Organizing your life around eve mechanics is even moreso.
Nothing that encourages or eases solo isk making should really be encouraged. Social risk is just a part of the game. In fact, it is the game. Granted, there is the caveat that POS need more fine-tooth roles management, but hopefully that will be addressed in time.

I'd love an in game alarm clock. SWG had one, it was a nice feature. Not only could you time in game stuff like factory runs, but you could set it for like when you needed to get off, when to fix dinner, when the dryer should be done :)
Stuff like that.
It would be a nice feature to have added :)

My poor idea. Its been lost to the dusts of time and pushed back to page 3!
After thought about having the messages show up. Colored text across all chat channels saying: "__________ has X number of minutes left to complete @ _________ location." Much like events in missions or complexes were you trigger the next wave, etc etc etc. |

There are a slew of third party alarm clock programs you can download off of the internet. Many of them completely free and packed full of features like using your own mp3's as an alarm sound, muting all sound X amount of time before alarm sounds (So people that use to as an actual alarm clock don't get woken up by unexpected sounds (new email, download finished, someone IMing you, etc), and many more.
However, they've got the calculator and the notepad in game, so I guess this could be useful.

My thinking was to not have third party programs (except a voice sever) supplement the content of Eve.

My idea is on the 10th page
Anyone else feel the need for a non-third party alarm clock with customizable features?
