Hi, I started to use snake with sentry drones and please give me few tips how to control them. I usually drop drones and orbit one of them at 1500m. But sentry spawn positions vary, sometimes they close to each other and sometimes further, so when I need to scoop them to drone bay sometimes I can have only one. Next is too far and if I am webbed and can loose other drone to sleepers it annoys .
So my questions are how to avoid this? Can I select trajectory of orbiting manually to angle it to come as close as possible near both drones? Or is there way to spawn both drones very close together (maybe it depends on speed of ship while dropping them)?
Sorry for my bad inglese, not my native language. |

Or orbit closer, I tried this orbiting at 500m, you have to be moving fairly slow which isn't hard in a battleship, but if in a small ship may be an issue |

I just used to align to my warp out > stop ship > launch sentries. Soon as a threat came up they got scooped and off i went to sit cloaked somewhere. However this is extremley carebearish so don't do it if I come knocking
Currently going through courts to get access to my son. Greatfully accpting doantions to help me keep plexed. Much Love.

While what you say is true. Aligning and then stopping your ship will show you if you are going to bump into something as you align to warp if something does come a knocking. Although if your align is at a strange angle (hard to describe due to lol3d space) I think the ship model will auto correct back to a the "flat/horizontal" plane over time. Don't know if this is still true, been a while since done it. |

I didn't realize this, makes total sense soon as I read it! Thanks for the info

Don't know if this is still true, been a while since done it. You are basing this on the graphics you see. This is not correct.
Understand that the server sees your ship as a nothing more than a "sphere" filled with stats.
Your "front" is based on your trajectory... which requires you to have some kind of velocity. In absence of any speed, the "sphere" that is your ship ceases to have a "front."
The graphics (which are all on the client side) try to interpret what the server says to the best of its ability.
This is why you can sometimes warp at an angle or even "sideways." The graphics on your client are simply not keeping up with what the server is saying.
So basically... if you have 0 velocity, you will align and warp in any direction in the same amount of time. "Passive aligning" (which is what you are describing) is a myth.

PVE or PVP. Assuming PVE, why not just sit still. A snake can tank just about any mission with the smallest of tank. Mine has something like a large SB, invuln, em ward and sba for tank, it has 1 x t1 thermal rig also. If memory serves anyway. If I need to move scoop burn to next location, stop and drop. If I need drones on the move, gecko and lights. |
