I am at a loss here. I played Eve last night, no problems. After I logged off and went to bed, my Windows 10 machine updated via Windows update. Now, whenever I start Eve, it crashes.
Details:
Start Eve via Launcher as usual. Client starts and immediately get error: https://gyazo.com/6e5d37c48038aa9efda898d5864ea999
Troubleshooting steps:
Rebooted Shutdown Verified cache Verified permissions Deleted cache and redownloaded Rolled back Windows update to previous day Uninstalled Eve, reinstalled Eve
Still doesn't work...
Help?

Similar setup (win10, i7, Nvidia 960, 16GB RAM) - same error. Got canned yesterday/last night twice - although after been playing for some time, not directly on game launch.
Stupid question - did you by any chance update your graphics driver as well as doing the windows update? Cuz I know I did get the newest of nvidia like the day before yesterday - could be a coincidence but around the same time I think eve started acting up for me. (haven't tried rolling-back driver yet tho) |

Did get the NVidia update around same time. I rolled it back along with the WIndows update during my testing. I'm going to keep trying today, if I have no luck, then I'll likely just re-install OS.

Holy ****... You're right, the TS Overlay was causing this... Thanks for that!
Any chance you can tell me how you figured that out?

I had the same happen to me but it ended up crashing Windows altogether and now I can't get Windows to launch after the update. I'm having to go in and reinstall windows (after I put a different hard drive in ofc). Hopefully I'll be able to do that without much issue this afternoon.

Running 4 clients on W10 machine
Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 14393) (14393.rs1_release_inmarket.160819-1924) AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz 16384MB RAM AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series Driver File Version: 8.17.0010.1474 (English) Driver Version: 16.300.2511.1001
For the past two days I've suddenly started getting a problem where one client hangs and reports "not responding." To make it much worse, it is impossible to close the hung client. Task Manager "end task" does nothing, "end process" reports "access denied." Even command line instructions such as "taskkill" and "pskill" do nothing and the only option is a full reboot,. As you can imagine, happening every hour or so this is getting real old real fast.

UPDATE: I've reverted to running EVE with DX9 and I haven't had the problem again - clear for 2 days now. Is this another EVE / DX11 / AMD conflict like we saw before ?

This is now FIXED after recent patches, W10 updates and graphics driver update (not sure which one solved it) and running happily on DX11
