I'm living in 0.0 and was farming these sites freely. However visited high-sec once I 'have stolen' 2 skins from empire carebears ('he has no honor!' ). But yeah, i can see how fun it could be in empire. Agree with OP: it was good event.

One of the good things was, that you had to go to isolated systems to find many sides. Good for knowing the area. I liked it. |

There are some roaming blood raider ships in the overview filters already, not selected by default. Maybe those have something to do with the event?

+1 to Tipa's post.
I normally hate any form of PvE, but this was the best event since the original blood raiders event last year.

I loved the event too, sadly nobody stole the loot from me and almost everyone would warp out as soon as they landed if I was already shooting NPCs but I guess I should have not ran those sites in highsec if I wanted fights. Still, unlike the previous event, it was good ISK/hr if you factor in the SKN prices, especially when running them in 900 DPS HAM 5.75 AU/s Tengu.
Workarounds are not bugfixes.

+1 from me too. Good to see CCP return to the KISS principle of PVE (1st seen in Crimson Harvest), a principle first slightly violated with Frostline and thrown completely out the window with that Serpent mess.
Simple is just better for EVE PVE. Yea, im going to broken record it again, but y'all should notice how most of us are doing 'simple' missions and anoms while most of us don't do the more complicated stuff (Drifters are the perefect example). CCP should keep this in mind when developing more PVE content like we talked about at the CSM PVe townhall. |

I loved the event and I really like the amarr purity skins. The skins are elegant but simple and make all amarr ships look a bit otherworldish.
I completed three full sets of skins, sold one set and kept two for my ships. I made a nice gnosis kill when a guy took a grab at my loot.
Open site with no accelearation gate worked great. That was an invitation to compete and get PVP.
There was a bit variation in the npc spawns in number and ship class, but not in waves. I wished there would be more variation in pve in general.
A full set of skins for one race was a great idea to promote the skin usage in EVE.
The coronation fleet in amarr wearing these new skins was also a great idea.
Keep it up and keep it simple, CCP!

So you can create harder sides for vets and easier ones for noobs (I would exclude t2 from frig sides)
What IMHO would be a nice idea would be some kind of matchmaking, where you can offer fleet maybe for a constellation so that new players or players at odd hours can get together to run sides. |

I really enjoyed this event! Even gotten TWO skins that I have stored away until the day comes I can undock either in an Apostle or Avatar!
Even when somebody else would warp into the site(s) I tried to get them to join in to get the can at the end if they wanted it.

What I would wish for the next event ... more varity in the spawns so, that tactics matter. For example in the Serpentis event you only had to lure away and shoot the middle group of guarding ships to unlock the container.

I agree. This event was fun.
As previously mentioned, was it was short.
You could do the sites in a variety of ships. I saw new characters running them in frigates, sometimes with help from older characters, so pilots did team up at times to help new players out.
You got a useful reward, and many people found trying to collect a whole set a worthy goal. In addition, whether anticipated or not, there was the haggling that went on over trading extra skins with other pilots when you didn't feel like selling the extras.
So, to sum up, a short, fun event that provided a sense of accomplishment coupled with the opportunity to meet other players in a competitive setting that sometimes turned on a dime from combat to conversation.
Thumbs up! |

You know what would have made it more interesting, if going into the spawn that is a wormhole spawn type that sends you to a dead space pocket so you end up in ????
High sec spawn sends you to high sec
Low to low
Null to null
Entering could put you in unfriendly territory making it so if you don't kill it fast enough upon entering your journey back could be interesting, but make it so it jumps you maybe 5 systems out from where you started, wormhole despawns 15 mins after coming through, so you have a choice to stay or flee. |

The only thing I hated about it was that it ended when I wasn't looking (logged in yesterday and found out they had been de-spawned).
Looking forward to the next event. And, I definitely agree with the whole "Simple is better" approach. GG, CCP.

Site distribution could use another adjustment: found 18 sites in one null-sec pocket. That seems high. I understand distribution was balanced to prevent too many site spawns being pushed out of high-traffic areas into dead null-sec or WH systems; but I think a hard limit of 5-10 (for example) accumulating in any one system, is needed.
Simple mechanics may be "good," but it brings us back to repetitive grinding. The Shadow of the Serpent event mechanics rewarded a variety of methods and gave us variety in combat sites. These aspects were good improvements from the same site completed the same way, over and over again.
My problem with SotS was per-site completion rewards - a reason to be in each site, for loot collectors of all persuasions, were ignored, in favor of event points, requiring massive amounts of grinding to reach reward tiers. If the reward tiers and daunting progress bar (reminding players of their lack of progress) did not exist, I would not have perceived Shadow of the Serpent as so "grindy." |

Eh, I think both systems have their good and bad points.
I really got a feel of achievement from SoTS, when I got gold container, and in few cases also the loot from shipyard cans, it was more like finding a gold coin in a stack of hay or watching how your tree grow and one day suddenly you see it having a lot of fruits. For this purity event it was more like small bits of chievement every site, like every step there would be a small berry to the basket.

I liked the skins, I liked the design, I liked the pace, I liked the contest(s), I chuckled at some social interactions from it. And when I collected all the skins and wanted to **** about and have some fun I quickly realized that I dislike the fact the the NPCs could not not be remote repped. |

I was one such [sort of] carebear. Someone stole an Avatar skin off me. Technically, it wasn't mine, but I still feel duped ;) |
