I was just wondering what other players thought of them? I was kind of surprised, when I fist logged in I was like why is there a metal plate in my hanger...oh wait, that is a skill book. The new icons look a bit tacky to me. (Ok, I think they suck) Love the rest of the patch though. Well, most of it.

I don't like them at all. Especially since they do not fit to all the other icons. Why was there a change? The old skillbooks were okay!

They look good but arent immediatly obvious what they are without checking fine details.
They should be distinctly different colour shades imho.
Red/Green/Blue kinda different or something less overkill.

I prefer the old skill book icon, but I like the fact that you have some Settings, and I like having lvl5 look different. I think it would also help if lvl4 was different too, sort of mid-stage kinda thing.

I do like them more, but why are they books ? We don't learn skills by reading a book. They should look like micro/data chips or little USB Sticks.

IMO Yes, they are pretty cool, good job on that one CCP.
Now lets move to keeping lvl 4 missions the same and engaging that CREATIVE side of your brains (mostly the right i believe) and get new scenarios for lvl 5 missions instead of borrowing the good lvl 4's..
Rock on...

Edited by: Marco Ragnos on 21/03/2007 17:29:28 Huh, there are pretty good indeed, also quite comfortable that books displays skill learning status, like it might be little opened if skill was trained a bit but not completely and as I could saw skill icon turn to a golden surface if skill is 5 lvl.

Better make the skills working like the remote market order skills.

IMHO the new setting "Show all trainable skills" is misleading and have petitioned it as a bug.
It does not only show trainable skills, but all skills even if you cant currently train them. Showing all does not add much functionality at all, but showing skills you can now train based on your learning so far makes perfect sense and would be useful.
If others were to petition in a similar fashion I'm sure it would help bring attention to it and as such make it seen by someone who can actually make it functional, rather than clutter. ______________________________

It is useful as is, but the other 'interpretation' of 'all trainable skills' should be added, as that is even more useful.
Also, the new skill books are ugly. -
If you go into your options menu, there's a difficulty slider. Put that all the way over to the easiest setting and you'll be fine. |
