After building a new PC, Eve now produces a very noticeable "buzzing" in the speakers while I'm playing.
It doesn't happen while in Windows, but as soon as I start Eve, the buzzing starts.
Known issue? Workaround?
(Disabling Audio in Eve does NOT correct the problem, nor would I consider that a valid workaround)

Update:
When Eve is minimized, this sound goes away. Totally Eve related.

Edited by: Terghon Tu on 22/03/2007 00:14:09 Did you do a fresh install of EVE on the new PC, or just copy it over? I'm thinking you'll want to try using a different device, maybe EVE is using an emulator or pointing to an old sound card that no longer exists? The fact that it pops up even when you disable the EVE sound is odd. I'd try a fresh install of EVE if you haven't already.
If you can minimize EVE and get the buzzing to persist, then you can access your sound card settings and toggle on/off .WAV, MIDI, etc. to see where the buzzing might be coming from.
You might also want to see if it only happens in fullscreen or windowed mode, or if it's both (you didn't say which you were running). Best I can offer you. Good luck. ---------- The right to do something doesn't make doing it right. |

In full screen mode: While playing, buzzing. If I alt-tab (Eve minimizes automatically) and the buzzing goes away. I can still hear Eve's music playing clearly when it's minimized and the buzzing is gone.
In windowed mode: While playing, buzzing. If I alt-tab or manually minimize Eve, the buzzing continues.
While this is not a completely fresh install, I did delete my cache folder. Since all the prefs are there, it should have started from scratch.

That's happening because your Video card is interfering with your Sound card. Probably your sound card is OnBoard one ? When EVE is not minimized there is lot of 3D going on the screen so the Video card is on pressure thus generating interference which is what U r hearing. Buy a separate sound card and disable the onboard one.
