the main point the web II is considered waste of money is its strength of only 80%. its range however is 11km instead of 10 which is also a lil low.
well i guess making webs having all the same slowdown rate but vary by their effective range isnt very popular but for fights vs agile targets this would be an imense advatage. ofc this would mean the end of the tI and named webs since they would be always be outrun by their tII variant. imo this is a tricky problem since changing it can easily lead to an overpowered tII web variant.

afaik faction webs do 12km range and are quite popular. What if keep t2 web strength at 80% but do it 12km AND change faction webs to 15km. Think that should fix the problem. 1km bonus just isn't enough to weight over additional 10% web strenght(which means quite a lot, since 80% web reduced speed 5x and 90% one reduces speed 10x, so it is basically two times better)

What you also have to take into account is ship bonuses to web-range. If you made faction webs 15Km, you'd be giving them an ever bigger boost on ships which have these bonuses.

Agreed that T2 webs should be 90% 12k.

I think there is a reason to why they don't have greater range than 10 km. Think t1 stabbers, pulse saders/maledictions and other ships relying on speed + faloff, and then the ease with wich t2 webbers are trained. ---

Hmm yeah that does suck. Didn't realize DG webs were so horrible.
