Anyone planning on using these in J-space? They seem a lot easier to pop and will offer more incentive that there will be loot in there.
Part of me just thinks I might just get my Astrahus fit to produce to try and keep things low key.

My math shows no reason to install anything at the moment. If you want to Indy, put up a Large POS. Better defended, cheaper on fuel. |

Was looking more into the future when POS's are phased out or like stations, unable to be anchored.
I agree currently that is the best option however it will not be available for ever.
Would anyone even risk putting the EC's up given how weak they are. Suppose it is more just a problem for me as I am a very small corp. |

I think in your case, it's best to see them as an incentive to get a few more people together with you, and start to invest in the ability to defend them, in the few time periods that they are vulnerable. If possible, look into a couple capital alts? I could also see a fortizar in a sub-C5 being a massive assett to have in system, provided you have a group of people willing to defend that too, but at least with a fort, you can store caps and other big toys for home defense of your production arrays. |

I know the way i play is not really how the games intended to be played but due to a lot of factors it works for me. I know better than to complain when game play mechanics do not suit me.
Just wanted a first impression of what others thought.

Who knows what tweaks CCP will make by the time that happens.

My own math agrees. Keep the POSes up til they have to go away. |

How fast could you build a dread with the new L sized? Wondering if its faster to build stuff with the new structures + rigs than old pos in wh. |

Perhaps it was never intended for solo players to be able to run full-fledged indy operation. But after reading the devblog I think I'm ****** the moment I have to switch to the new structures.

Keep the pos for production, the Ec's are only defendable when you have a big group. They seem to be made only for null sec alliances.
No local in null sec would fix everything!

From what my dudes have found is that it will be more efficient in the long run. Honestly it dosent matter cuz it will be the only thing we can use come January when they start phasing out pos sticks.
If you don't live in W-Space.....your opinions are invalid.

Mind providing your source? Only thing I've seen CCP say on the matter is no new OUTPOSTS will be able to be anchored/upgraded come december, and the way they said it, control towers will be some months after that. I'd bet money on May/june at the earliest. |

It was my understanding that coming in Jan they were putting up the NPC buy orders for them not a complete phase out. Note that i said "begin to". What do you mean "no new outpost come december"? these complexes are coming out November 8th correct?

"No New" As in you cant anchor any more. "Outposts" as in the Null Sec Player owned stations.

Ccp still needs to do something with moon mining. Until they come out with a moon mining platform or do something else with moon mining poses will be in the game. |

If you're feeling super luck you could *attempt* to anchor an XL as they will be roughly as defensible as a fortizar if more hours vulnerable... |

I still don't get why they're phasing out POSes. They should stay in the game as a quick-anchor deployment structure. Just change it a bit to make it a middle-ground between ECs and Citadels, in terms of preference for production vs. defense. They already sort of seem to be there, or at least they will be when ECs come of age. Why not just leave them?
I think the loss of quick deployments will be bad for the game, especially wormholes.
Only the liberty of the individual assures the prosperity of the whole.
And this foundation must be defended.
At any cost
