what about the promise made to the Dreamers of providence who Built over 60 stations in providence because they are supposed to be a perm part of the game as CCP promised , why are you wipeing out those dreams with this hippacrisy of changeing them all to destroyable ****. what good is your word now?? and you dare to say happy building dreamers...someone should choke the life out of whoever thought up this bullshit . the only people you support is the destroyers and your just as bad as them. |

well thats the point CCP ****** up so bad with supers production that no citadel can stand up to a fleet its as bad as pos's are already. a fortizar is supposed to about = a station today in cost something that should stand up under concentrated fleet lvl fire for several hours was vaped in 20 minuits couple weeks ago, i do not call that defendable or any kind of proper trade for the stations we have now. |

how about you declare jita a ungovernable hell hole of griefing and reset its space to 0.0 and remodle all those stations into citadels, and when jita 4-4 get vaped and everything kicked out to surrounding lowsec, and all the marketeers of eve cry a flood of space tears and quit and this game dies. then perhaps you will understand how i feel about the history of providence 's construction and all the effort that has been directed to making Provinlock quit this game. apparently all CCP can do is Lie to the honest builders in their game who made that effort because of a promise. |

dam right 12 hours shooting the whole thing should not be over because the defence fleet got pushed off just once and the thing destroyed. defenders advantage should confer enough time to reform and come back at lest 4 times, that is historical defenders advantage minmium for equal tech levels all through history. |

Vulnerabiliy windows are set by the owner. If you can't muster enough people to defend in what is supposed to be your prime time, then CVA is worse than recent reddit threads have led on.
Additionally, you can bring 10000 supers to a citadel bash and it makes no difference. Citadels are damage limited. Anything over the max taken is a waste unless applied elsewhere.

this has less to do with CVA as a whole and is more about my personal opinion and history with the game. i was there for the fortizar thing, got pushed off, i knew there was a dps cap so went to reship and quick body function and ready to get going 25 30 mins later , and im told its already dead. really?? are you kidding me?? no its dead. that is my experience defending a fortizar . so your telling me the citadel most directly related to current station cost and size is as easily killable as a current pos control tower even with a damage cap. and provi is supposed to give up their stations for these things??? i consider that **** just about.

I don't understand how anyone as engaged with the game as you purport to be could possibly be this oblivious regarding citadel mechanics this long after their release.

Citadels are actually quite strong. Your defense fleet, even with the support of the citadel, was utterly stomped.
Your position is that, even though the other guys completely kicked your asses, they should have to spend hours... and hours... and hours... and hours... on painfully tedious, more-boring-than-watching-grass-grow structure grinding because you don't think it's fair that you lost?

i did not say that we should have won or lost in the end. i am saying that yes it should take you that long to vape something that big. its called willpower and member dedication. not the thug raiders style of combat yaaay we blew it up again in less than 2 dread cycles time to go home and party , and as long as CCP cares to stick a knife in things iv done in this game that are not supposed to change for this kind of thing well i very much disagree with that. and making things undefendable so its easy for thugs to blow **** up. |

Right, right - you just think it should just be such a long, boring, painful chore that nobody would bother to blow them up out of sheer misery, and the need to do anything else in their lives except spend 12 consecutive hours watching Pornhub while their guns cycle

You had greater numbers and the fire support from the citadel, which is really not insubstantial.
I have to assume the problem was a mix of, "We tanked for lasers because that's all provi ever brings" and, "Oh, cool, they've fit for knife fighting."

you have the story, i started playing again after doing something else for a long time and i hear about our stations being made over into these citadel things, and thats my first experience with defence of a fortizar and it died as fast as a current pos just coming out of RF to a mainly subcap fleet even with the damage cap. are you KIDDING me? a Fortizar costs as much as a station and appears to be the direct replacment for the current outpost lvl slot. and it only has the equivilant HP of a current pos tower. how can you not see whats wrong with this? |

There's... nothing wrong with it. It's a result of the well-established fact that people ******* hate hours-long structure grinds.
Consequently, the defense model for Citadels is that, against any attacking force capable of destroying the citadel, you either defend it, or you lose it, because inherent-safety-through-boredom is garbage gameplay.
You didn't defend it, so you lost it.
