Edited by: Splagada on 24/03/2007 18:05:11 im completing capital guns (far from cap torps still tho...), and dread 3
of course being minmatar and annoyed at it, BUT loyal to it, its for a naglfar which seem to be quite the pain to fly correctly
but the main prob is isk. got to find roughly 2B to buy and fit the baby :p
so i was wondering. how to optimize your isk gain in there? i got access to mining up to mercoxit, or 0.0 cosmos maybe, but how to get that maximized?
Anyone else got in that spot? being able to fly something you cant afford; and how long did it take you once you decided "let's go and get it". and how did you do lol. that gap is so big to fill :( ------

As with all things EVE don't fly what you cannot afford to lose. If it takes you three months to grind out the cash for a Dread prolly not a good idea to fly one.
To make lots if iskies really fast you'll want to be farming 0.0 plexes, mining in a Hulk in 0.0, ratting in 0.0 and hope for Officer spawns or building like crazy with a juicy T2 BPO (some are obviously worthless).

i think its a much better idea (espechaly with dreads) to have them corp owned. . as frankly the only thing there good for are corp ops, and well why should u put up 2 bill of ship to pop a pos for some1 else. . .
then everyone owns it and no1 has risk! plus your less likly to lose it!

hmm in 2 months i can have solid carrier skills too..
prob is that i'm a real psycho, i live in 0.0 and refuse to leave :p
doing my own stuff, my own prod, my own everything :p i socialize in corp but apart from that i'm the 0.0 guy. and whoever think you're mad rich there is wrong lol
well for the minmatar hardcores who love to crash ships in gatecamps :p ------

And just think, you can then take it to LowSec and risk missioning there.

could fly a Naglfar right now technically, but CCP loves giving minmatar the ability to specialize, and forces them to do so, so I still have a few weeks of training for my citadel torps (I had torps 1 and I'm 3 years old now!). I love the minmatar though because we get to do everything: shield tank, armor tank, speed tank, shoot projectiles the size of cars at people, you know, the usual.
As for isk: I was depressed a little because I realized I was going to be buying it for myself, since I want it to be MY dread, no my corp's. I've always been poor. I had a Hail M BPO, so I was going to sell that for the dread but then as fate would allow, CCP gave me another Hail M BPO so I traded it to a friend in exchange for the ship! Made my decision to sell my BPO easier. Research skill = amazing (who doesn't want to have 4m sp in science??)

I bought my own dread, for myself. Seeing as how it was my first ever capital ship, i didnt want it to be something the corp owned and the work needed to get there just made it all the sweeter.
I just ratted my normal hour or two a day as i trained the skills. I spread out my money making over a few days and had a spread sheet telling me how much i should make daily in order to have money for the dread before the skills finished. My corp also has a investment program which i can get interest off of, so that helped a lot.
Its not that hard, just dont spend any money, dont die too much, and keep a steady income.

Well dread pilots can also look forward to the new L5 and 6 missions which will be in low sec and 0.0 only, although it will be a while me thinks b4 this is built in.

QFT
All youll end up having is a ship that has little useage, unless your grp is out popping POS's often. Then selling it after the dust collects. Better off saving for your own carrier, that way you can atleast do some crazy solo crap if ya feel the need.
GL on the isk though
