The latest of Abraxas's stories has been added to the EVE Chronicles section of our web site for your reading enjoyment. Since the man himself is away right now, on a short romantic vacation in the land of fjords and llamas, I have been entrusted with the task of announcing this latest addition to our fictional ouevre.
Here is "Invisible Waves." Enjoy. |

Ahab Melville? Oh, come on
Loved the story though, especially the line "That sting you feel isn't because you fell in love; it's because you were reminded how bad off you were before love took you in its arms for a while." __________________________________________ "In girum imus nocte, et consumimur igni."

I really like this one, it is very poetic.

The random collision of characters makes Eve in my opinion - story captured that perfectly.

Death awaits us all, for people to seek it makes the fact somehow more poinient.
Excellent. Although i somehow feel that fails to describe it.
I thoroughly enjoy these stories, keep up the great work.

wow, well done. damn good story you wrote there.
there is something about an old salt's reflection on the sea and its coorelations to the wonders, mysteries and cruelities in life...
it has taken some of the greatest literature in history to capture it, and you were able to here as well. no small task.
just damn good writing right there, what else can you say?

QFT. Definately a great interplay between old and young, yet carrying a similar burden. -

I was already looking for threads to discuss it when I first read about it the other day.
It's a very nice chronicle, very inspiring and well-written. Good job Abraxas!

*coughs* Yeah. That was a placeholder name. Think of it as a peek backstage.

It's a bit hard to say, because I'm doing a lot of other stuff concurrently. On average, though, it probably takes me about a week. I'll spend two days writing what I call "draft zero", something that's about halfway between an outline and a first draft and that often ends up being as long or even longer than the resulting story. In that draft I make explicit mention of all the plot threads, all the layers, symbolism and meaning, and any other detail I want to include. Then I'll spend two days on writing the story proper, followed by one day of editing. Quite often I'll edit some other piece, and let the newly written story rest for a bit before looking at it again.

Too good!
No, I mean it, I can only understand your stories on the surface, and it depresses me. When you revealed the meaning of Postnatal I felt like and idiot for not getting it in the first place.
I'm gonna go out and travel in low-sec now.

It did, yeah. Next chronicle should be up tomorrow. It'll be a bit less gentle than these past two have been.
