How is it possible that Tripwire, one of the most important tools for WH activists and activities, has ony 18 Patreons?
I do not understand. |

Patrons do not equal users would be my guess. Perhaps they pay extra or are alliances/corps. Why even ask here? It's not like this is the Tripwire support forum. |

Many people use Tripwire. What is the thought process that causes so few people to financially support it.
Moderator,
Please move this to the appropriate 'tripwire' support forum.
Thanks,

Where did you get the 18 number? Anyone can donate on a one-off basis to tripwire through paypal, and I assume a lot of people have done that.
Also, things like that are typically labors of love, not jobs. You don't build and maintain that as a job, you do it as a hobby because you enjoy it. |

18 is recurring. Fair point on the one-time basis. I think one-time contributions invisible in Patreon.
"labors of love." Certainly possible, maybe even probable. Up to the do-er, I would think. Damian asked for Patreons so reasonable to guess he/she would appreciate love to be shown financially.

You misunderstand - CCP cannot relocate it to the correct forum because the correct forum is not within CCP's control. It would be whatever the official communication channel is for Tripwire, which is not forums.eveonline.com

Eh, I can kind of see it being a viable question for GD?
It's not a question to the makers of Tripwire, it's a question for the people who use it (so not an official channel from the makers)
Probably more suited for the wormhole topic though.

OP, what is the theoretical number of patreon supporters that he should have?
How much should he be making before you are satisfied that the community is providing enough support?
In the end, tripwire is great and I assume (perhaps wrongly) that Damien isn't in the development of it to make money, but more because its a labor of love.
His server cost is $40 per month and he's making $109 per month currently via Patreon.
I'm not at all against developers being paid for their time and effort. So what is the level of support the community is supposed to be giving here?

These 18 patrons are actual wormholers left living there, in wormholes. Everyone else you encounter there is an alt of those 18.

There are many threads within forums.eveonlne.com that are about third-party tools. In at least some of those threads there is "sponsorship-like" discussions. |

It was $60 according to Daimian. Now $40 after IGB support removed.
It's an arbitrary answer of course but this is how I answer.
$0.25 per week if one uses it weekly. $2.00 per month if one uses it daily. |
