Or are the number of Amarr skins starting to get annoying? Amarr easily has double the number of skins than just about any other faction in the game. And the skins for the other factions are.... lacking. I'd love a better skin for just about every Caldari ship that isn't just flat grey with a [insert color] strip on a wing tip.

Caldari don't care about looks, they only care about functionality.
Amarr, on the other hand, have to "dress" appropriately for their Dear Leader and their empire.
I'd expect all Amarr skins to be fully serious, I'd expect only the Gallente to get ridiculous color skins. |

Caldari just need sterile, but functional, gunmetal grey. Minmatar just need good ol' rust. Gallante will eventually block out multiple suns with their fashion... but only if you buy it this week. Gotta stay current to be chic.

Amarr need all the help they can get.
If you're going to fly crap ships, you may as well look good doing so.

For the Caldari I could see some fractal military style patterns for their ships honestly.
Gallente skins aren't much better imho. I like the police skins and the Quafe skins, because they actually noticeably change the color of the ship.
I agree with Minmatar though, those ships are just junk to begin with. xP |

I'm with the OP. Too many Amarr skins, almost no skins at all for my pirate ships. CCP please correct. |

My new toon is Caldari, and with the slash of AUR costs for SKINs, I'm keeping my new alt's ships in colors. I am digging the the Blue Tiger SKIN on Caldari ships. The Sunset one is nice, but I've always like blue over red. The seabeast green SKIN is far too dark. Someone forgot to put a light coat of primer on first.
I took a look at some of the Minnie ships with Blue Tiger... Yuck. You can barely tell the SKIN's active.

I just want my hello kitty kestrel!
That said, give it time. The last 2 events with skin rewards focused on the Amarr ships (purity of throne and blood raider). Prior to that we had the serpentis which gave us a bunch of gal skins. My guess... Angels/Minmitar around Valentine's day or mid winter. |

Dear Amarr Empresses,
Stop Dying.
We are tired of mourning/celebratory colors on your ships. Stick with gold.

I'd expect all Amarr skins to be fully serious, I'd expect only the Gallente to get ridiculous color skins / Hello Kitty / Angry Birds / etc. caldari could use skins to show what mega corp they belong to (which are really competitive and like to stand apart.)
or what caldari navy fleets (operating in different areas of space, from slightly blue tint for caldari center, slightly green tint for gallente border, and slightly brown tint in minmatar)
or what black ops unit (see Golem skin Kaalakiota)
and thats to say nothing about Caldari Pirates and Renegade Factions who, while tending to still be professional, like to stand apart from Caldari and show it.
Caldari are militaristic, this doesn't mean they don't care for appearence, if anything this means they care for it ALOT more. but rather than random colors, they go for sensible color schemes based on mission, system, ship's role, and rank.
heck just look at the USA Tank Core, they paint Abram tanks with the field of combat they going to.
even the Imperial Japanese Navy did this when they moved for alaska. |

Not really going to matter much I don't think with what CCP announced and showed us with respects to SKINs at Fan Fest. From the sound of it, and considering it looked like every SKIN and its mom on NES has dropped heavily in price recently, CCP might be gearing up to gutting most of the ones that are available (at least from NES, not from game) and making SKINs that will span multiple races and factions and have way more intricate designs.
Supposedly, the Star Captain SKIN for instance, or what ever it's called, for the Confessor will be later slated for several ships that are not Amarr. I could be wrong on that, but they did show us what the SKIN looked like on the Confessor...
...then proceeded to show us a Domi and Macharial with it applied too!
"Tomahawks?"
"----in' A, right?"
"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."
"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

This is why I want the Cold Iron skins for Caldari, a proper dark grey; or the Umbral skin (currently only for the Nyx) would work too, its darker.

We Caldari care not for the look of the exterior of the ships. Function above style! As long as the missiles fly true and the other guy goes boom, we are happy. The Isk must flow. |

These so far have been the best skins over all with one exception, the Khanid skins, which btw seem to be a combination of the Purity and Cold Iron skins to begin with to some extent.
But Khanid colors or Cold Iron for all ships would be my vote.
I have never been a Red/blue fan for ship colors and the green is meh as well. The seabeast skins look god awful to me. The rest of the half decent ones are way to expensive so it wasnt useful for me at all. If the case was that skins applied to a single ship but that is what you flew 90% of the time and you only flew ONE ship at once, think alts here and not one account at a time solely, then the price would justify itself to me more. Multiboxing large fleets, zoomed out anyway precludes a huge skin desire for me when the price is factored in.
I love the dark skins mostly because of the idea of a pirate ship coming swiftly out of the blackness, out of the sun, out of the clutter and attacking guns blazing before anyone knows its even there. To me that symbolizes what I think Eve is the best.
Have you heard anything I've said?
You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?
That's right.
Had to end sometime.
