Hi, I just started playing EVE but I immediately noticed a strange thing, Gallente use drone and Hybrit Turrets (it can be done) Minmatar use Projectile Turrets (It can not be done) Caldari State use Missiles (It can not be done) Amarr Empire use Energy Turrets (It can not be done). Now the obvious choice of which race to choose is Gallente because all the ship will be active weapons bonus, I would just like to understand why were blocked these types of weapons at least those of level 1. It is true that all races can use all kinds of weapons, so I can play with Amarr with drones and hybrid turrets just it does not make sense because I would have no bonus from ships. I would only understand if it was a choice to avoid some kind of cheat/exploit, sorry for my English. |

I believe you are confusing your starter skills with skills you can train as an alpha. A quick glance at the alpha clone skill set showed that all races are capable of training the drones skill, as well as all races are able to train there secondary weapon system skills. Here is the link if you would like to read it. https://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/introducing-clone-states-and-the-future-of-access-to-eve-online/

Meow Helli!
Omegas do not have that limitation. I'd suggest purchasing a 3 month sub to save you a few dollars.

For various reasons, it can make sense to use unbonused modules, if you know what you're doing and have a fitting strategy in mind. You're obviously not there yet, so let's ignore that part.
Being able to field drones AND hybrid doesn't make Gallente an "obvious choice", all weapons have their use and specificities, their advantages and their disadvantages. In Eve, bigger isn't necessarily better. The sooner you understand this, the better. Otherwise you will face a cruel disappointment later on.
As for why it's blocked, well, you got an indefinitely free-of-charge account to play with. You can't expect to enjoy the same opportunities that paying customers do. Keep in mind that Eve have always been a subscription-based game, free Alpha clones are a recent bonus, an indefinitely free trial. And that's already more powerful than what you might think, precisely because "bigger isn't necessarily better" in Eve.
Being "blocked" in one race could also, potentially, help beginners to focus, instead of wasting time trying to learn everything and ending up unable to efficiently use what they learned. But that's obviously not the main reason.

I think you are mislead by looking at the alpha clone sklls from your galente alpha clone.
Each faction alpha clone can only train the weapon system assosiated with his race. You can train drones and hybrid because you are galente. A Amarr alpha can train drones and lasers. And so on. |

Gallente Alpha Clones can only use Gallentean ships anyways, and those usually can use Hybrid Drones and/or Drones exclusively.
One of the possible reasons CCP did this is so that new Alpha players don't start their games making weird fits like Missile Rifters or stuff like that. |

Just a design decision to enforce more racial locks, which is a key point of being an alpha.

Thats exactly the mess i made years ago lol. Spreading out to much at the beginning is not a wise choice, alpha clones will definitety help new people train "usefull" skills faster then giving acces to all skills from the get go, even is it is only at half the speed.
