Can't tractor yellow wrecks? WHAT?

It was a pretty sweet setup and I was less-than thrilled to discover that the Alpha-Clone F2P model essentially gutted that character (Can't fly ships not of your nation and Caldari/Minmatar can't train Armor Rigging skill ). So I shrugged my shoulders and started over. I spent several million ISK fitting a Catalyst for salvaging. I had the Salvagers, the Salvage Tackle Rigs, Cargo Optimization Rigs, and most importantly (according to the guides), the Tractor Beams. And let me tell you, it took awhile to save up for the first Tractor Beam. So I was excited when I had enough and no-longer needed to fly within 5,000 meters to salvage a wreck, but could yank it to me from over 20Km away. At least, that is what I was led to believe. In reality, you can't tractor jack unless it is abandoned or owned by you or your corporation. Wut? In a game as notorious for outright dickery and backstabbing, I'm a little surprised that EVE decides to throw a monkey-wrench right in the middle of salvaging. It's not even presented as an in-universe restriction. It's just a little insulting notification box that mocks you with "I'm sorry but you can't tractor that wreck because you don't own it. " Why? Why can I choose to fly up to a yellow wreck and salvage it and even loot it if it has loot, but I can't do something as simple as tractoring the darn thing to my ship so I don't have to triple the time it takes to clear a mining zone of debris? Nobody cares about those wrecks! Yet nobody bothers to freaking abandon them! I really want to know why this is a thing, when the game is so hands-off with everything else. And if this is going to remain this way, would it be too much to ask for wrecks to be automatically abandoned if the player or corporation who "owns" them leaves the blasted system? Or if they are just left sitting out there for 10 or more minutes?

Because you could also tractor a can with a mission item, keeping it our of range of any bear. That would be griefplay. Also, tractor beams predate the safety switch and they forgot the allow to go suspect for tractoring in an unfriendly fashion. Please contact your CSM delegate to discuss the matter. If you take all the sand out of the box, only the cat poo will remain.

How would CCP know if you were using a tractor in an "unfriendly" fashion? It is easy to determine what is happening in game it is virtually impossible to determine the intent behind those actions.

Whatever. You should get on Twitch and see what these Alpha clones are truly capable of. I've been amazed time and time again on what is possible with a "free to try" account. To say that they are only good at mining and prey is pretty short sighted. Start to think outside the box and you'll have more fun. "I heard you know a thing or two, about a thing or two.
