Hi,
Would be great if these kind of sites would have a longer despawn timer. Perhaps, for example, like wrecks have.
It is the second time that I came across a Harvestable Gas Cloud that i'd love to have harvested ! Can't remember about the first time, but in this case, if I would have stationed, for example, my Venture at the nearest station, I would probably still not have made it back in time to harvest because a battle cruiser is just not fast enough to dock quickly and switch to mining vessel and warp back in time....
Hope more peeps have had this kind of situation happen, and support this :)
Thanks.

Not sure if you are understanding the mechanics of an expedition, especially one that has a gas cloud (ie, Booster R and D), correctly. Are you asking that you are able to destroy all the npc ships first using a warship and then warp back in a mining ship? Perhaps you are asking for sites that you scanned down?
To buck the popular trend, I began to Rage Start instead of Rage Quit.
...and every time I get another piece of Carbon, I know exactly what CCP is getting this Christmas.

I only know expeditions you get from an escalation in a scanned combat site. They end up in your expedition journal. Only occasionally there is a gas cloud where you warp in.

Well, you could kill all the NPCs except for the named one.Re-ship back to a Gas sucker with teeth and attempt to kill the last ship ( they aren't that tough) and then freely mine the gas. The only other way is what Baggo suggested: bring a friend to either kill the enemy or get the gas while you do the opposite role. Once the named NPC is killed, the site despwns when you leave and has been that way for years.

I agree, in principle, that a player that completes an expedition site, should have additional time to clear other resources out (should they choose to do so).
But this is contradicted, by the fact you have 24hrs to run it, and exploit it, which if you start early, is time enough to mine it as well (Albeit only if you DONT finish the final trigger for completion).
Im not sure of the mineral/gas content of expedition sites, some may house valuable ores, and the acceleration gate system would provide an artificial safe advantage to detecting invaders should the spawn persist past completion, On the otherhand, you cleared the site, so why shouldnt you have that advantage.
Can ypu probe and warp directly to someone in a completed escalation site, bypassing acceleration gates through its rooms?

That's a good idea and I think ima try that next time. Also, the thing is, I don't have the habbit of checking the Overview for mining purposes when warping in... usually your already concentrating on actions to take on warp-in to kill the rats. It is only sometimes that I think about checking for other stuff, but almost always after clearing. Guess I have to make a habit of checking the place out before engaging the enemy.

If i'm not mistaken, you can probe someone, but if you warp to that location you always end up at the first acceleration gate (if there are multiple rooms).

You are correct, You cant warp directly to a gated part of dead space.
