Why can't you self destruct a POS? I mean it's yours. You should be able too.. Watch it go sky high in front of your enemies as a last gesture of defiance. Clearly should be an option!! You can self destruct a ship. Then you should be able to self destruct a POS. |

I actually agree, it is likey to limit someone going rouge in a corp and SD all the pos, at least it takes some time to steal it lol |

Im actually totally down for this. But Id give it a 24 hour period at least to self destruct. Then do the same for citadels and such. the grace period is long enough that a rogue couldnt really do it well and you could give the same warnings per hour as the fuel warnings too.
Have you heard anything I've said?
You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

For the record: Any suggestions about POS mechanics are wastes of time at this point.
POS mechanics are not being changed again in any way because they're being phased out of the game completely and replaced by upwell structures.
That said, I think there should be a self destruct button on upwell structures. Maybe even make them hackable if there hasn't been any owning corp activity or online service modules in 20 days as a sort of defacto garbage cleanup system.
Have the self destruct send an alert to the owning corp when triggered, and any member with operating priveledges can auto-cancel it by docking.
This way, if you successfully evict someone from, say, their wormhole citadel, you aren't stuck shooting a dead structure through three vuln windows if they never make it back. You can just see that it is 'abandoned' and hack the self destruct to remove the trash and maybe get a little loot if you feel like coming back in a week. Or maybe hack the FOF and assume control of it.
Nothing more annoying than finding abandoned POS and having no way to clear it out but sitting around structure grinding when it makes much more sense you should be able to salvage that forgotten space junk my scooping it, and an abandoned upwell structure is 3x as annoying to remove since you still have to wait for it to vuln no matter what.
We should be able to assume control of abandoned structures as long as there's a good lengthy period of time and very forgiving mechanics before they are considered "abandoned" |

Ccp already watered down ones tactical options when they changed ship self destruct mechanics, I doubt they will implement this option for citadels
