TL;DR: Make a player resume viewable by others to expedite and facilitate recruitment. Make recruiting a 2 way street.
Personal Resume in the character tab: List of SP Distribution of SP Skills that have been trained # of corps the player has been in (non starter) # of corp mates killed over lifetime, or per corp Short biography Kind of corp player is looking for (PVP or PVE, dangerous space or safe space, etc) Available for recruitment yes/no
So im a (semi) experienced pilot (i say semi because i have 70mil SP but i dont play the game much. In game skill is there, personal skill is mediocre). Ive run into a problem. I have the skills necessary to contribute effectively to a corp, but all too often i join a tiny corp and end up quasi running the damn thing because of my higher than average knowledge and SP. Going and joining larger corps is a pain in the rear due to the (understandably) convoluted joining requirements and hurdles that i have to jump over just to be accepted. Whether it be some obtuse website-account api-linked joining procedure or having to download multiple programs and figure out how to get them running, etc. Giant pain. It feels like people forget that the most valuable resource is a pilot. But i digress.
Large and small corporations normally engage in aggressive recruitment to boost their numbers, but it seems like its trying to find the best dull needle in a stack of hay or trying to find the most trustworthy sharp needle in a field of hay. Lots of work has to be done by the recruiter and sometimes the recruitee. Now this could be exacerbated by the need for corporate security, but its still a pain
So, i want to propose the idea of personal resumes. Nothing super crazy. Integrating SP amount and distribution, indicate what skills have been trained (maybe even just copy paste the skills tab in the current self-character screen) number of corps that the player has been in (not some giant list, half of which are starter corps) number of corp mates killed in total, a quick biography (separate of the current one. or replace the current one) a list of what kind of corp said person wants to be in (ie pvp or pve, HS, LS, NS or Wspace, time zone, etc) and whether or not the player is available for recruitment or not.
This will tie into the current corp recruitment tab and create a 2 way street, instead of just a one way. Corps looking for skilled talent will be able to find them much easier, recruiters sitting in noob space will have a better idea of what noobs are looking to do, and in general make the recruitment process alot easier.
Also do this because im super effing lazy :P

So, basically, you want people to use what they have already been using for years on end, namely, the API....

Yeah. And it doesnt even have to be as elaborate as i had described. SP amount, preferences and available for hire yes/no would be enough. |

Most recruiters will ask for an account-wide API. They're assessing the player - not just the character. The API is your resume in Eve and will usually be followed up with an interview on comms.
Some corporations will accept anyone. The better ones tend to be more selective - is there a good fit between what you are looking for and what they have to offer and vice-versa. |
