If you are into marketing you probably noticed a huge number of buy orders for very small amounts that overlap each other constantly, making marketing an even more frustrating activity than it usually is, and 24 hours a day.
As soon as you update your order, someone buying 20 units of something worth less than 10k ISK updates his for 0.01 more, on pretty much every item you have buy orders for, even stuff that you usually had no competition.
That sudden increase in this sort of behavior can only be explained by bots. No one with a functioning brain would dedicate so much time to move so little ISK or make buy orders so small that they don't even sum to 1m total.
I want to know what CCP is doing about this, because apparently this genius idea of making this game free to play is already proving to be a bad one. They should at least restrict Alpha accounts from creating buy orders, because this is getting out of hand. |

If you really think that is what is going on:
Fill one of the orders so you can see who it is and then report them for botting.

By all logic pervading the community, people will tell you -not on the official forums- that you're a baddie if you don't run the same bots with your leftover laptops |

It isn't usually just one person (or bot), I purchased 10,000 Zydrine 200 at a time off the cheapest sell order. Took ages lol but saved a few mil. Anyway when it was done I checked transactions and it was six or seven different sellers with the same low amount and price.
My opinions are mine.
If you don't like them or disagree with me that's OK.- - - - - -
Just don't bother Hating - I don't care
It really is getting harder and harder to justify $23 a month for each sub.

Yes because you are the only one trading the market.
Therefor, they must be bots. |

Therefor, they must be bots. Once, years ago, many traders started commenting that trading at Jita suddenly got much easier. CCP said they had banned some trading bots.
Ten trading bots.
It takes only a few of them to make life for the real traders far more difficult.

I don-Št really get it?
If its only 20 units. Then just dont care about it. Should not hurt you if you were trading bigger quantities? |

you know literally thousands of players trade products everyday so dont think the 0.01 isk game will disappear or get any better as people still do manually, find different products or move tradehub

The other issue at play here is that as you get older in Eve you learn better and better how to do different things, like markets and making alts, it is the same with pvp and pve really too. As you stay and learn you can dedicate more time into activities you enjoy and do so more efficiently and cheaply, this is simple human nature unfortunately, as will all the others that also adapt rather than die.
In Eve, no matter how friendly you are with someone, eventually you will have the Odepus Complex; you will try to kill your father (competition/others) and marry your mother ( gain resources/items). In short... Everyone will become competition... for everything.
The ultimate irony for you loving to think: What would an immortal human race do in this case? As we get closer and closer to the medical advances that could offer humanity immortality I love pondering such things in my spare time.
Have you heard anything I've said?
You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?
That's right.
Had to end sometime.

Much of IRL trading is automated through bots.
It is a source of unending bitter-sweet laughter for me, that IRL markets are less regulated than virtual ones.
Then the big bucks financial correspondents on major news channels/newspapers scratch their heads and struggle to spin it when they repeatedly fail to predict or understand the markets.
I dont think there is much chance to detect/identify market trading bots. Their behavior is very similar to OCD human traders.
In anycase, there are so many existing underlying irrational wierdnesses in EVEs market, especially in obscure buy orders which reduce regional averages, that the economy system is already rife with borks.
Jita, in and of itself, is an irrational result..Regional trade hubs should be the most equitable.

I'm not willing to say I know for sure that there are bots, but I do find it suspicious how, even on niche items, you can change the price on an item at any time in the day, and within a minute or so there's a slightly higher / lower bid. |

I'm especially watching my orders in niche markets when online, to be sure to grab the rare trades and scare the competition away. . There are bots or bot-like players, but I would say it's more the exception than the standard. Usually the reaction and reaction times feel very human, in the markets I play.
