Find new friends, new activities, or do something you always liked. If you spend too much time in EVE you will get bored eventually.
I found my balance, I am playing enough to get my dose of EVE, yet not too much to get bored and I haven't had a break from EVE for 5 years now. |

2006 player here. I started losing interest years ago, but the thing that brought me back was Dust 514, believe it or not. I sort of suck at Eve Online, but I'm on the upper echelon of decent with FPS games. Became a serious player in the Dust community and eventually became CPM (Dust's CSM) leading up to Project Nova.
If it weren't for Dust, I'd have honestly quit playing as early as 2011.
Since then I've sort of just been doing the whole RP thing in IGS and fiction writing for the annual Pod and Planet Eve Fiction Contest. I view myself more as a purveyor of lore than an actual player, really.

I started in 2015 and the community does some things sometimes that leave me quite disgusted but I've taken my break and come back with thicker skin and a better ability to keep above the water.
Breaks are good maybe that's all you need.
I don't really call myself a bittervet but that's my only real burnout to Eve.

Just try different things that you havent done before even if you usually find them boring. No mans sky is a fun space sim to play for about 8-10 hours if that helps. Usually the best remedy for it is to take a break, makes everything feel fresh when you come back.

Set yourself objectives and go for it.
Recently I had the following: Build an Astrahus - done, war dec someone to get POCO tax reduced - done, then had a 1v1 with a ship I knew I would lose to because I could.
Now I am playing around with PI in low sec and every so often I try to save freighters as part of AG, it is amusing watching the gankers telling me how fail we are for failing to save the freighter when it is pretty damn difficult to do so, every time they say that in local I get a buzz.
My next objective is to go after a certain entity by allying on war decs.
When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

To be perfectly honest, for me it has always been the activeness of the community or group I am in. As a couple of the posters already mentioned.. you DO need to take a break. But if you are constantly operating with yourself or a couple other people, then it can get dull pretty quickly.
Expand your horizons, get involved with new groups, try something new and totally different than what you are doing.

By going out and doing something new and different, if your bored out in null, go somewhere else, do something else. check out low-sec. FW. WH's. high-sec incursions. variety is the spice of life. you spend too long doing any one thing your bound to get bored of it eventually. stretch your horizons and learn something new. |

2005 player here, just returned from long break. I did a bit of everything in EvE. Eventually everything gets boring, so I guess that breaks do the thing. My only issue atm is that my friend list is like graveyard - it's full of ghosts. 99% of ppl from it stopped playing. And I'm missing them and good ol times/chats/stuff we had. I guess that it's time to find new friends, preferably similar ones with their graveyard lists like mine.

Over the years I've had several rage quits, boredom quits and many many restarts. I had never really done trading & manufacturing because to me it's boring as hell so created a character for it, gave is 20 mil SP and started doing just that. After learning some of the tricks it made me a lot of Isk (some 200-300 mil a day without much effort) but it was still boring as hell so I decided that I'd rather eat broken glass than continue doing that.
So I made this character, another restart but going back to my roots: Minmatar, without cross training. Still doing PVP on some of my older characters but at some point I'll switch to this one and fully abolish multi account playing and keep it to one account only. Less self reliance results in more teamwork. |

When I quit a few years ago, I came back and joined my old Corp. Same guys, same nulsec, same so crap. I started to remember why I quit. So I moved to lose by myself and solo Pvp'd for awhile. Then I joined a lowsec Corp. Kept up with my old Corp so I didn't really lose my friends, but did get away from what I got bored and burned out from.
I was forced to stop playing for awhile because of life, and came back recently to low and nulsec for fun.
Basically id say find a new Corp in a new section of the game.

Do different things
At one point i was so burned out that i scanned down a 10/10 in angel space and just logged off i had done so many
Came back and had so much isk i ran a 10 man mining operation solo. 370 million cubic metres of ore later that itch was scratched.
I picked up cans dropped in noob systems at one point which was more fun than you can imagine.
My ultimate goal is to take 4 ships and an orca into nullsec and never come back |

Restart. Abandoned all my previous toons and created a new character. I am pretty much roleplaying her life in the game, and out of game writing it down as a story. Surprisingly, it has been very interesting and has kept the passion alive, sparking my creativity that I thought I lost so long ago.
It hasn't been difficult since I have always been a solo player since 2013. Flying with others is fun only for so long before I get that urge to leave and strike out on my own once again. Have done it with my main so many times that I have left friends behind that I no longer communicate with.
Hence why I don't make new ones... |

I discovered that there's a whole meta world going on out there that I never knew about. Bloggers, podcasts, news channels-- people writing about things and people that I didn't even know existed. EVE Total! Detailed and insightful stuff, and a lot of it sounds really fun. Just not enough time to check all of it out. :/

Sounds like you just either A) need to take a small break for a bit and play another game (Eve is easy to burn out on) or B) switch your current corp/alliance up and change things around. Go join a corp in an area of space doing something you haven't done before or have not done in a long time. You would be surprised at how much that could change up your game and make you interested again. |

If you get bored try something new. https://english.eve-guides.fr/images/wtd.jpg
I played for five years before I tried building ships, it's actually interesting for a while when you see an oportunity and the market demand and then you build and haul and earn errmmm millions. The isk/h is nothing compared to wormhole sites or Incursions but who cares if it's fun. I still haven't tried the hacking minigame or lvl 4 missions or epic arcs as I'm saving the best for the last.
Tbh all the stuff I've seen my corpmates do over the years is something that would take me years to try it all. Gotta try somepoint the thing where you convo someone who got ganked and offer a merc job, get the killright and afterwards show the killmail and get paid something ridiculously low.
I'm really happy that I've written AARs and frapsed so I can relive the good times when I'm old.
If all fails teach a newbro before you quit Eve.

That reminds me of this one incident. There was someone in the the local LS I used to hang that I have fought against a few times, and most of the time he was solo while I had at least a few corp mates with me, so I think I did get a few kills on him. From what I've seen he didn't do much PVP, usually running sites and doing PVE.
Then one day I was messing about solo, and found a helpless Hulk (not even a Skiff) solo mining in LS with this other guy in local. I tackled the Hulk, and started chewing through the shield & armor, no problem. Then suddenly, this guy uncloaks his falcon when I got down to the Hulks hull, and jams me to oblivion.
The hulk gets away and the Falcon dude also run away after the Hulk escaped safely, thanking him in local. He didn't even have a point on me or back up to come and counter gank me. All he wanted to do was to make me fail ganking a miner, which was actually more lol than being baited and losing my ship.
Well played heh.
Cheers Love! The cavalry's here!
