I recently started playing eve with a friend and am looking for advice on how to get into the pvp side of the game. I've read all the guides here but, found that trying to solo PvP is almost impossible, i got ganged up on before i even had a chance to find a possible target.
Im looking for someone with more experience to take me under thier wing and help me get my feet wet. other then these forums (where im sure ill get flamed for this post) where would be the best place to meet people that may be able to help me out?
Im not asking for free stuff. Im just looking to meet some people, learn more about pvp'ing, and get some much needed starting experiences that dont involve me being ganked by groups of battleships.

Well, by making posts like that in this forum youll not only recieve a bunch of flame posts the oh so l33t, but those that try to give you good advice will vary and youll come out not knowing any better.
I suggest you go to the recruitment forum and make a post statiing your char age, number of skillpoints, your abilities, what you can fly, guns you can use etc... state what youre looking for in a corp and what sort of experience youre after and then await replies :)

Join a 0.0 (deep space) PVP corporation that is willing to accept you. Train basic skills for Microwarp drive, scramblers en webifiers.
Then you are pretty much wanted by any corporation that seeks newer players.
I did the same when I was new to PVP. I had a great learning school and a good reference after it. If deep space isnt for you, then you can always leave.
But i really do think practise makes you better and as deep space is lawless, its the best way to learn (ps. don't get caught up in politics).

Edited by: Exid Rihal on 08/04/2007 00:54:21 What Pride said. Getting into a 0.0 corp is a must. You need to go with them on runs to see how your enemies fight, and work your ship / skills around that. Most corps / alliance have good tactics and will be happy to show you the ropes around 0.0.

You obviously don't know the community very well. A well thought out post, free of any whines, and a mature tone such as seen in the OP will recieve similar responses in kind.
...and yes, we do sell and deliver ammo. 425 Express Delivery is available upon request, please see Hans Gates and Marcus Grisbius regarding this option. |

Thanks all. After reading the replies and talking with a few people in-game i think i am going to start looking for a 0.0 Corp. If anyone has any recomendations of a Corp that would be willing to take on newer players like myself please let me know.

Could always go over to Hagilur and start calling Ginger out in local, you'll get some free lessons that way.
