So ive used range scripts before and they have, as advertised, doubled my missile range. But now, on an alpha clone, when i activate the script my light scourge missiles (in Rapid Launchers in a Caracal) only increase from 31km to 38k range.
Unless im missing something shouldnt the range be 62km when i use the script? Or is the an 'Alpha' thing? |

Missile range scripts don't double the missile range, they double the bonus to range which the guidance computer provides.
For example: a T1 Missile guidance computer gives +4% to missile flight time and velocity. Using a missile range script, these are doubled to 8% but you completely loose the bonuses to explosion velocity and explosion radius. |

When I hover over my T2 torp launchers loaded with javelin torps, it says they should be able to hit out to 98km. That's also what I get in fitting software.
However, even against stationary targets, they only make it about 90km, falling almost 10% short. That's way too much to be talking about things like "It takes them awhile to accelerate to max speed", yada yada.
Same thing for Rage torpedoes - with a missile range script it says I should be able to hit out to 54km, but I get 50 at most. Again, against stationary targets.
Try hitting some stationary targets like sentry guns or webbing towers, close to the range stated when you hover over your launchers. I'd be interested to see what your results are.

They would hit up to 98km if they would not have to accelerate.
If you take all the sand out of the box, only the cat poo will remain.

flight time gets rounded up or down to the nearest whole second , based on the 1/10 seconds of flight time eg. 4.7 second flight time rounds up to 5 seconds , 70% of the time , and down to 4 seconds , 30% of the time ..

The maximum range is limitd by my targeting skills (+implants), right? I notices it on cargo scanners: The scanner says it had more range than I can actually use it. |
