No. I and many others want it completely GONE! Agreed! Not sure why this was enabled, but it seems like it could have been done visually instead of an audio notification. It's annoying for players who have been playing years. It's not those who have been playing for years CCP is trying to appeal to, we've supported them through the tough times so they know most of us won't go anywhere. We will adapt to bad changes as well as good.
Unfortunately with Ascension - There is soooooo much bad to adapt to.
Personally, I wouldn't mind the unnecessary distance warnings (even rookies work out it can't be opened until in range quickly, they are told as much during the NPE) if they were in a voice that didn't grate on my nerves EVERY TIME it activated.
Adding 1970's keyboard click effects (to every mouse movement) and irritating voice overs to a game in 2016, is something only CCP would attempt - and fail at.
My opinions are mine.

It really is getting harder and harder to justify $23 a month for each sub.

I don't know about that. They could have done it in the tutorial. After all, how hard is it to understand this concept? On the other hand, if I am getting sensor damped in pvp and have to hear this stupid messege every 5 seconds it does make me want to smash my keyboard. |

There's also a session change when switching ships (an unwelcome feature) which prevents getting back into the fight quickly, which takes away the purpose of PvP. It's not nice when you have to wait to actually play the game as it was intended.

While not related to the 118.10 release, it is still important feedback.
The in-game notification system is highly customizable, it is very easy to turn off notifications for "Out of Game News". If you turn off the "Out of Game News" notifications, you still can receive notifications about in-game events, sever event and dev news.
You can even choose if you want to see a notification popup, or if you only want to see an entry in the notification history without a popup.
We believe that this strikes a good balance between informing interested players (not everyone wants to spend time browsing websites, but still appreciates being informed in a casual, easy-to-dismiss way) and letting everyone decide for their own what they want to get informed about.

I am very displeased with a 32 % nerf less than a month after release of the very expensive drones, ship mods, implant, and extra skill books. Eve once upon a time was risk vs reward. Well we pilots that now have to have the rorq on grid to have mining boosts are risking massive amounts of isk. And CCP screws us on the reward part.

mmm the Aura voice sounds aren't bad, and if players dislike it they can turn it off. But I'm all for the feedback. A lot of the client lacks any kind of responsiveness, and compared to other games that are orgies of visual and audio feedback, EVE has a way to go.
"You must be within range to perform this function" (or whatever she says when you open a container outside of 2500 m) is a bit wordy but I'd be okay with it if it was followed up by "Approaching."
I think other commands like Approach and Orbit and Align could all use Aura responses. I've lived with the aura voice clips every time I dock or do anything with 10 clients and it's fine. Helpful, even, to know my command is acknowledged.
There's a slight delay on the mouseover sounds that feels like lag, and I hope you reduce the delay to zero. I suspect you have the audio triggered with tooltip and other graphics, perhaps piggybacked onto their code?

Going to repost it again cause I feel the need.
Please link the Thera Ambient sound to one of the volume sliders for station exterience or the "Ambience" slider.
That noise and the noise of the tactical camera view (not the tactical overlay) both still drone on and I'm not seeing a way to turn it down at all.

Youve somehow made the session timers on citadels worse then regular stations. When i press undock and its stipped by session timer, please keep the undock button blinking and activated so it undocks me when session timer is over, just like it works on regular stations. This way i wont have to click 2-3 extra times to undock. |

I have a question as to the time frame of control tower buy back and when it is no longer to our advantage to keep them in a worm hole and switch up to a citadel. Just a wonder i have had for some time now. No one seems to "KNOW" exactly when they will go off line for good. Also is it market price or do we get what we paid for things years ago when the market was better then it is now. I have a c4 that I live in with an Astrahus up and running with a faction tower and all the goodies to build in it. Do we get fair market value for what we have or is it going to be horrible exchange and we loose all that we had in the wormhole. Things that make us go "HMMMMMMM!!!... Let me know please one way or another as I have way to much to loose from the gaining of a engineering complex and a Fortizar. |

no, the gift for today is a 15% off in the EVE Store.
I really appreciate every little things you invent for us and love the details you give to the game CCP but indeed I am really disappointed for today's gift (I didn't want to but I am).
I really would buy some articles from the store. As I am one of those who invested into the first decade Special Edition and enjoy the game for now 8 1/2 years I would appreciate some Merch stuff. Not that I do not appreciate your efforts but as I live in Germany I would have to pay 23 $ minimum for mail and package for any article. On top of that there are just 25 articles I think this will not find many happy Receivers in Europe... what is the mailing costs to you in Iceland?
My idea for a next day's gift would be a female Fedo to finally start my Fedo-farm :-) - Happy Holidays to all of you and to your families! |

ontop of the new UI sounds being overly annoying (do we need a 'glitchy' sound to let us know the window is closing?)
the added 'You need to be within range to execute this function" is getting about as frustrating as the old 'gong'.
If i am 4000m from a can and choose 'open container', I just want my ship to move closer and open it like it used to, not keep telling me that I need to be within range, while my ship is getting into range.
This added voice notification is unnecessary.
CCP Antiquarian, you explained at EDU that the sound dev team didn't think the 'gong' got properly evaluated for TQ, seems like these new sounds/voice notifications suffered the same neglect.

Evaluation is not really a priority. I mean really, Devs presuming everyone who plays eve is a moron that constantly needs to be reminded about basic, common sense things that can be repeated many many times in a single session.
Maybe their goal is to really test our dedication to the game - That horrible new voice, unnecessary mouse over click sounds, crammed up skill sheet with annoying popups, is certainly doing that.

It's a noise, just like when a demon drops gold in Diablo you hear some clinks, and when you pick it up there's a sound resembling a bag of gold sliding across a table. Potions are different colors, and there's a huge splash screen for practically anything you achieve (in Diablo). Or when you are on a kill streak in Counter-Strike you get the stadium announcer who says "Monster Kill" "Ultra Kill."
It's basic interaction and feedback. Audio, visual.

This was immediately turned off. I'm not really fan of the removal of the advanced camera functions either and I'm not sure what the reason for the removal was (aside form code clean up?). It was handy for video production.
We're still missing parity on camera functions as a whole from the spring release, with no word as to when if every the tracking camera position customization will make a comeback.
CCP please consider revision of the camera system and add the above mentioned features back. You're actually losing content producers in the community because of your removal of the advanced functions.

Fair point. An honestly if the ship is approaching the Can anyways do I really need an auditory prompt? Nope.
As i stated above give us a adjustability of Aura's interaction perhaps from Low for more advanced players and a high setting for new bros. Maybe scale it over character age if possible.
This audio change wasn't needed and Much like the Gong we're not sure why the reason behind it was.

We can remember things like you can't open a can unless you're with in a specific range. While I agree with you totally on the unnecessary prompts, Rain gave a half reasonable explanation above - Games like Diablo have had this kind of thing forever. Maybe CCP is trying to catch up by adding useless cues to Eve. Being a game just like all the others seems to have become important to CCP - Why should Eve not have all the crap other games have. (sarcasm is hard to put into words)
Instead of an audio cue telling me I am out of range to collect the loot I want (I already know that and so does any new player that has completed the NPE), how about one telling me the can, wreck or whatever is open. This way I don't have to watch Dscan and the wreck (my cargo) at the same time. I mean really, if we're going to have audio cues, at least make them somewhat useful.
"I'm too far away" is more than obvious, when I click the wreck etc how far away it is shows quite clearly so being told I am too far away is redundant. Tell me with an audible sound when the can is open. That would be a small quality of life change and a useful one in some circumstances.
My opinions are mine.

It's the kids these days. They want games that push their APM and reflexes, and in that regard EVE is just molasses.
