I have not used carriers in anomalies last few years (yes this is an alt indeed). So bear with me I'm not an expert on this. As far as I understand currently the minmatar one is considered best for doing anomalies. Basically, warp in at 100, align to citadel, release fighters, kill everything. Keep an eye on local, warp to citadel if neut enters recalling fighters from link range of citadel.
Is there anything else I should be aware of? I have heard there are now capitals in anoms so I guess they are no-go for a ratting carrier to take on solo so as soon as one spawns its time to bail to the local citadel.
What is the best or the usual setup for that kind of isk grind? I can fly any of them so if anyone has good Thantanos setups I'm interested in taking a look at these as well. I already have a Chimera but as far as I understand its not the most ideal platform for PvE.
For a start I EFT'd up this thing:
[Nidhoggur, pve] Drone Damage Amplifier II Drone Damage Amplifier II Drone Damage Amplifier II Drone Damage Amplifier II Experimental Hyperspatial Accelerator
Drone Navigation Computer II Capital Clarity Ward Enduring Shield Booster Gist A-Type Kinetic Deflection Field Federation Navy Omnidirectional Tracking Link, Tracking Speed Script Federation Navy Omnidirectional Tracking Link, Tracking Speed Script Gist X-Type 500MN Microwarpdrive
Fighter Support Unit I Fighter Support Unit I Siege Warfare Link - Shield Efficiency II Siege Warfare Link - Shield Harmonizing II Networked Sensor Array
Capital Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I Capital Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I Capital Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer I
Dragonfly I x9 Dragonfly I x9 Dragonfly I x9 Nanite Repair Paste x125
The idea with MWD is to get in warp in 10 sec from standstill instead of the usual 25 seconds by firing one burst of MWD. This particular one I picked because it has 0% capacitor size penalty and it seems to be going for only about 120 mil.
According to EFT the fit is about 725 mil + the cost of the hull, so total cost a little bit north of 2 bil.
Few questions as well:
(1) What kind of isk/h should I expect from carrier ratting in anomalies on average? Just wondering if it is really worth it over 100mn isthar/VNI non afk.
(2) The new command boosts - they do affect myself as well right? Even if I have no one else on grid with me? |

depending on the factions you are facing in my experience angels give the least isk/h could be cause of them being tankier then other factions, but normal ticks with that fit should be around 35/40mill doing havens, to 50mil in hubs, havens are kinda more like a afk thing cause u will sit in a site longer then in a hub, but you can do 2 hubs in 20 minutes which will lead to more less 50mill ticks, you won't be able to tank a dread to long in that fit so i suggest asking for immediate assist on that and to answer your question about the afk ishtar/vni it is a lot better but you may find yourself warping of to citadels much more often if you are living in prety busy null sec, cause when you see neuts 2/3 j out, you should recall fighters and warp to a cit cause you can easily get cynoed and also put a cyno on your fit and be in a standing fleet so if **** goes down you can light it and get help, if you have any more question feel free to convo me ingame and good luck o/ |

Yes - tested with a CS and it works perfect.
PS, I would have more Drone control units. Max DPS for Max ISK/H
Also I'm not sure if this is the case but a Cap AB might also get you to warp (Never tested it wit a Cap) which would give you a 6.5sec warp. Might be worth testing as you can then get by with a cheaper AB as well.

Actually another option is to just stay aligned, fighters basically have unlimited range, and unless you like to recall them to re-equip the bombs, I find it much safer to just stay aligned and insta warp on the first sign of danger. You don't even have to recall your fighters - if you wait to recall them when you hit the station's grid they will warp to you. |
