I used to play alot of EVE when it was new and just when the new ships started to appear on the market. I never was so wery intrested in trading back then. But now with all this new stuff i think it could be fun to try it out. Could someone explain a in a simple way what u need to do? or is it plain and simple "buy here, go there , sell it , do it all over again".

There are many different approaches to trade. They all have a few things in common:
1) Knowledge of a particular market 2) Skills that allow many buy/sell orders as well as lower the cost of a transaction 3) The ability to move (usually large quantities) of items
One way to start is to pick a few mods and distribute them to the outer low sec systems to see which markets you can fit into and still make a profit.
Another way: Buy a second or third tier BS cheap in a hub, don't insure it, and fit it for travel. Take it to the nearest 0.0 choke point and sell at markup. Or if your feeling gutsy fly it past and sell somewhere you can dock at a higher mark up. You have to decide what level of risk you are willing to take for what level of return.

basicly whats been said.. theres lots of tools in eve to make it more fun then that and to make it both easier to fint good places to sell/buy etc. finding trade routes can be a challange and very rewarding if you find a good one
theres skills theres market theres alot of stuff
oh well im no trader but its certainly viable and probably a very nice way to play for the ones who like cruising around with goods and trade
starting trading will probably be very mutch "buy here, go there , sell it , do it all over again" but when your an expert trader you have competition to crush, markets to rule and isk to burn lol

Trading i fun and viable. we dont' quite have all the tools we need yet to make it real pvp (i.e. being able to refuse to sell to certain people). But if you have the right mind set it's fun and profitable.

There remain a number of primo level 3 and 4 mission running hubs that constantly lack sufficient ammo, mods, and ships. The result is highly inflated prices. People could easily service those areas and bring down the prices, or even just fill-in what's missing.
Similarly, there are a number of gateway systems into 0.0 space and common capital ship jump points that could be stocked with high-value mods, fuels, and even ships and ammo. If sold at a reasonable mark-up, they'd get bought by folks with low sec-status and with 0.0-dwellers looking to minimize exposure to war targets. ------------------------------------------ 'Teh Onchinator' Personal Assistant to MrsPitman |

Actually, it's not so much the level 3/4 mission hubs being short of ammo. It's there -- just overpriced. There are resellers who buy sanely priced ammo and re-sell it at a much higher price. They have big wallets, and don't mind a few haulers lugging ammo for them.
The key is know which rats the mission hub distributes to mission runners, and provide heavy missiles/torps/cruises/large ammo most effective against them. Talk to the mish runners, find out what they use, supply it. They'll be glad to pay a few isk extra to avoid a trip to Jita.

The key to trading, and more generally all things industrial, is to find a niche and fill it. You wont make much money if youre competing with 1000 other people, especially since its a fair estimate that 75% of them are stupid and/or looted it and would sell at a huge loss just to make isk. Also servicing border stations near 0.0 can be profitable since people out there are willing to pay more for stuff and theres generally less supply. _________________ [SAK] Alumnus--And Proud Of It! -- aka Cpt Bogus Is that my torped sig cloaking your base?
