Is a stealth bomber still a viable ship for 0.0 ratting?
I know there is a whole new wealth of ships to choose from, however I'm a day away from using one.
I will be training other ship types in the future. I know it may not be the best ISK maker but its all I have for now. |

It's great as a starter ship. It gives you options. Primarily the cloak let's you move around to different systems with some ease. Being a frigate, it's tank is weak, so you'll need to be careful what you engage. Belt rats are fine, but running anoms solo in a bomber - not a brilliant idea.
It's also a great pvp ship. You have to choose your targets and there is skill involved being a good bomber pilot in pvp. Be sure and try out pvp in a bomber as good opportunities show up.
If you're in a nullbear corp and have established space I'd recommend a tanky T1 cruiser as your next goal. Then move to battle cruiser. These are cheap and sturdy ships that will be more efficient than your bomber. If you're in one system it's pretty easy to tank the local NPC rats.
maller - thorax - rupture - caracal are good starting out choices for all the races.
Once you get into battle cruisers - they are all decent for belt ratting.
You'll need something T2 - T3 - BS to run anoms efficiently, but that's down the road a bit.
My real advice is get out of null farming as soon as you can and get into wh. The real fun is had in that part of space.

as boring as it sounds.....Tengu.
There are certainly other options out there but the Tengu is still the gold standard for high end ratting. They can solo virtually anything with tank to spare, they can be refit with a mobile depot to ignore bubbles and warp while cloaked with a full rack of stabs just in case, then pimped out with DPS and tank mods once you get to green pastures. Then refit it to probe down hacking/relic sites and wormholes just for good measure.
Hard to beat T3 cruisers in general, but the Tengu is so easy for PvE that it is ridiculous. |

Drone ships are always a good option for Nul Anom ratting. Vex, Navy Vex, and Ishtar all perform very well across a wide range of skill levels and damage profiles. |

I've never heard of anyone ratting in null with a SB... Perhaps it's possible if you warp in, fire torps, warp out, then repeat but I imagine the ISK per hour would be minimal. If you want something cheap a Vexor works well.
Of course I'm assuming you're ratting in friendly space. I used to do lowsec ratting in not so friendly low population systems in a cruiser fitted with a cloak. The ISK per hour wasn't so great because I had to hide when other pilots came in. |
