This makes me really sad, as my first movie I saw in the theater was Star Wars IV: A New Hope. It led me to EVE eventually.

Every death is untimely and shocking but I get what you mean. If you ask me the most shocking death was Fidel Castro's. I kinda expected him to live up to 300 years of age and survive 700 more assassination attempts. He reminded me of Rasputin in the terms of survival tenacity.
You forgot Zsa Zsa Gabor. You also dared to forget Johan Cruyff and Alan Rickman but that's ok.Not everyone likes Football and Harry Potter movies.
On the Turkish side, two of 70's Yeshilcham's staple superstar actors/actresses died. One was the hottest actress of that era and the other one is the most handsome actor.
I don't want to jinx it but both Irving Fields and Jacque Fresco had long and wonderful lives. I hope they survive 2016 for Allah,God,Zeus,Odin,Buddha,Jehova,Flying Spaghetti Monster,Xenu's sake.
I intend to live forever, or die trying.

Well, I focused on the influential art side of things. Bowie, Prince and Cohen are three of the greatest creators ever. Muhammad Ali broke all barriers between sport, politics and individual development. Gene Wilder was unique in his performances, as was George Michael. And Carrie Fisher was a unvoluntary icon for 40 years of fans... and lived to overcome it.
Zsa Zsa Gabor... I was on the fence about her. But all in all, she wasn't known for her career, rather her personal life (a bit like Liz Taylor). Fidel Castro... well, that's politics and his death wasn't exacly unexpected. Johann Cruyff, I'm not a sports person, didn't noticed he died precisely this year (and I am from Barcelona, so hang me ).
Of all the above, Bowie was the one that shocked me most.

I read that she had completed her part in the filming over the summer. The tone I picked up on is that what's to be done for Ep.9 is up in the air. Suggesting she was to make it through at least that far. |

Wikipedians didn't update it until last month but, back in August 20, 2016,the musician Irving Fields has passed away at the age of 101. He was a prolific and relevant musician who also composed a song for YouTube 9 years ago. May he R.I.P.
