Weird how i stopped loggin in much before the booster changes were announced, yet after the camera was made mandatory.
And im not saying that the camera is the only reason, just that was the final straw. I get triggered by changes that dont deliver at least equal functionality of the things they replace. Im more unbearable than usual on most patch days.
Its not that the camera is unusable, i just see it as another insult to the players who made the most of the old camera and an artefact of CCPs half baked coding team. Whos standard seems to be to do the minimum work possible without making too many players quit. |

Three hours before the patch isn't "much before."
Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve

Having used one extensively, I can assure you it is not a gimmick. That's not to say it will be a success in business terms but the hmd and touch controllers are insanely good. I ordered when I heard fallout 4 was having a rework for vr. They say its a vive exclusive but but I'm fairly confident it will work with the rift.
I doubt that too. Bethesda games are some of the worst games the last few years with how bug riddled and broken they generally are. Amazing how a dev can push out unfinished games 1 or 2 years early with game breaking bugs every 5 steps and graphics 10 years old and people eat it up. Theyre almost as bad as ubisoft. |

You doubt 'what' too?I can honestly say that i completed fallout 4 with no major bugs playing from day 1. Oddly, the few annoyances that i had were never fixed. Not played it in a while, cant recall what they were. Thats how major they were. |

Camera Settings,
uncheck all the boxes, move bottom slider all the waaaay to the right to Stiff.
Click apply....
There you go, the non-cinematic/special modes works exactly like the old camera. Theres far more wrong with the camera than stiffness. -It takes 2x the input to look up and down than to look left and right. -Its max zoom out is far less than the original camera making situational awareness of large grids more difficult. -The number of increments between zoomed in and zoomed out is about half the number of the original camera. And the bulk of these increments are within 10km of your ship model. This leads to a very uneven control of zoom when using a ratchetless scroll wheel mouse. And with any mouse makes piloting at even medium ranges hard because you zoom one increment in, and you cant see many hostile, you zoom one increment out and the hostile are too far away and now you are required to do more camera movements to judge hostile distances with parallax. Non of these things can be fixed within the menu. They are design choices aimed at polish over performance. As i said, its very difficult to explain how very bad the camera is to people who dont put much demand on it. The new camera does not make the game unplayable. It just makes it less enjoyable for me to play. Im not aware of any player/gameplay centric improvement that came with the new camera for anyone not using carriers.
So about this camera thing, just a noob looking in here....
Cant you just choose tactical camera view and it solve your issue with situational awareness?
Lastly, to the person using a laptop. Well sounds like you need an upgrade from that mobile potato you are running. |

I cant write an answer to this without getting so convoluted that it confuses me. In short, kind of, but it would require a little more attention to do so imo. And that wouldnt make it any less annoying that CCP chose to set the new camera up like this when it could have been a direct copy of the old one in terms of zoom increments and their spread across the inner and outer distances.
The zoom increment / distance graph of the old camera was quite gradual.
The zoom increment / distance graph of the current camera is pretty much a hockey stick. |
