Hey guys. I was wondering if there is a YT channel that tells the lore of Eve, like Nobbel87 is telling the lore of WoW. I really want to know the lore but I'm too lazy to read and I would much enjoy listening to someone telling it nicely wile I'm ingame |

Yes! In podcast form!
Check out the Hydrostatic KYL (Know Your Lore) series.
Also Cyrillian Voth's Eve Reader is very good and it's an audiobook style reading of all of the Eve Chronicle stories.

The more I deal with people who are into EVE's lore the less I want to be involved with EVE's lore. And that includes CCP Falcon. My experience with it is trying to become involved the players end up going "if you're not already involved, you're not welcome." I feel confident in saying, giving the lore a wide pass will make you enjoy EVE more. Even discounting the people, the lore is tacked on, a disjointed cheap excuse to try to justify game mechanics that is constantly retconned and makes little sense.
The story that matters in EVE is the story you create for yourself, the one you live yourself.

YMMV lol
I find the lore guys to be very nice and super cool. I've been on a couple of their Drifter Hive fleets and it's like a guided tour
I can only imagine how alive their internal stuff gets when a new Scope video comes out or a Chronicle. Probably lots of heated debate and discussion.
OP there is a Tweetfleet slack that anyone can join and the lore channel is very active if you're interested.

The story that matters in EVE is the story you create for yourself, the one you live yourself. Welcome to why many of the old school lore/RP people don't play the game any more.

RP community doesn't necessarily equal the lore community. They are like cousins... maybe there was some cousin' lovin' once upon a time. ( what?) Anyway with part of what mkint says about player lore is absolutely true about me. I love to be my character and it really helps to know what is the world around me - and you have to look to outside sources and player made podcasts for the best picture of what's around you.
The Show Info thing doesn't do much to most of the celestial beacons in the game.
Edit: playing my character doesn't necessarily make me a RPer I think

Edit: playing my character doesn't necessarily make me a RPer I think The lore has nothing to do with playing your character. Playing your character is overcoming the odds against you, mastering the rules of the universe and achieving something meaningful. Some halfassed story fragments that were thrown in because it's something you're "supposed to have" has nothing to do with any players or what they actually can accomplish. Even the random events they've cobbled together that had player involvement have always, every single time, had the conclusion decided long before any players had anything to do with it. So, even from the devs standpoint it's a "no, you're a player, you're not really involved, you're not welcome here, except please come spectate so we don't feel like failures." EVE's lore is a lost cause.

and whether or not CCP put in game lore just for he hell of it, or as one said "so they don't feel like failures", it's still part of the game, whether you like it or not. And I personally love a background story even if it's a good one or not. The only reason I play games is for the story they have, whether those are dev made or player made and I think it's a big part of the game. And I doubt that a game this massive and this old has no interesting lore. |

And I doubt that a game this massive and this old has no interesting lore. I'm not sure I'd even call it a story. It's like a bunch of random chapters from a bunch of random books, not all of them even in the same universe or even the same genre, and the devs have given up on the story (as in fired they only dev that did any maintenance on it) at least 3 times since I've been playing. As I said, the story that matters is the one you live. That's where you see an epic struggle against the forces of the universe arrayed against you. If the story you are living is less engaging than what you're reading, then you're playing the game wrong.
