I have Signature Analysis at level 4, but my Myrmidon still takes about 20-30 secs to lock onto an enemy ship. Anyone know why? I am using the following modules.
High: 5x Modal Neutron Particle Accelerator I 1x Modal Light Neutron Particle Accelerator I
Medium: 1x Medium Shield Booster II 1x YS-8 Hydrocarbon I Afterburners 1x YT-8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon I Microwarpdrive 1x Phased Weapon Navigation Array Generation Extron 1x F-90 Positional Sensor Subroutines
Low: 3x Local Hull Conversion Overdrive Injector I 3x Warp Core Stabilizer I
Any thoughts? Thanks for any information on how I can reduce my targeting time.

Warp Core Stabilizers reduce targeting range and time.

It's breathtakingly n00bish.
You're using a target painter with guns that have little problem hitting smallish, fast targets. Even so, your drones can deal with small targets much better than your guns with or without a target painter.
You have both a micro warpdrive and a afterburner fitted. The power consumed by the one not being used could be put to better use. Such as:
You're using a shield booster on a ship with a massive armor repair bonus. Drop the booster and one of the MWD or afterburner, and fit an armor repairer instead. Ignore your shields for now. The Myrm has a powerful active armor tank. Use it.
If you're using guns on the Myrm, fit a capacitor booster in one of the mids and put 800 cap charges in your cargo hold. If you drop the guns and depend on drones - totally doable in the Myrmidon, and quite common - then fit Medium Nosferatu in the high slots to get capacitor from your enemy to run your tank.
Drop the warp core stabs and overdrives and fit a proper armor tank. Medium Armor Repairer (you can fit 1 or 2), some Energized plates and a Damage Control.

Try not using both the microwarp drive and afterburner, drop the target painter for starters. What are you doing with it though? If you're missioning there's and shield tanking there are some better things you could put in than that sensor booster (like hardeners). For pvp I'd honestly recommend an armor tank. Also there are some better things to put in lows than the overdrive injectors. Simply put, take sokratesz' advice and check forums.

Well, to be fair to the people that flamed you, there is a sticky post at the top of this forum with links to all the previous discussions about how to fit this ship and why. There are even some shield-tanked fitting that are totally viable. -- Guile can always trump hardware -- |

If youre that new, you really have no business even undocking in a myrmidon. You wont have the skills to make proper use of it, and will end up losing it and be disappointed.
You might try a thorax for a while. Its similar in design concept to a myrmidon, but not nearly as expensive to replace when you lose it (and you WILL lose a few).

Contact me in-game. I'll try and dump as much info on you as possible so you don't get killed.
And for the short version: stabs are BAD. Unless you're flying a hauler. And never fit more than one propulsion module (i.e. afterburner or MWD) of either kind at once. Ever.

Not trying to sound like a jerk, but in all honestly your setup = BAD, for anything. For starters, just look up the topic on your ship and grab the recomended parts for it (T1 if you have to) and than from there fine tune it to your play style. It's what I did with my Drake and I couldn't be happier with it (I almost made an equally bad setup with it, mixing heavy/assasult/standard missiles and a active/passive tank).
Or if you really want to learn how to fly your ship, buy the cheapest ship closest to it (Vexor in this case) and fly it into several missions till you find a decent setup and than head off into low sec an rat a bit against the biggest thing you can find and eventually PVP once or twice (you seem to learn the most from this in my experience, even if your not building a PVP setup you learn what you can/cant do). Just make sure if you do this have a cheap setup and no implants worth mentioning and expect to get your ship blown up/podded.

Anyway yah your setup needs a lot of revising. I would say dock the myrm for awhile and play around with a vexor as you get a better handle on the game. Vexors are a lot cheaper to replace and are still very good. This way if you do lose a ship it will be less frustrating and less likely that you'll quit.
