Hi and welcome to EVE, I hope you'll enjoy the game.
If you are that new, you should not be flying a myrmidon :-) Get used to a cruiser first and train your skills.
For game mechanics, ship setups and the like, go through the sticky posts in this forum, some are old, but most of it still works as described.
And try to look for a friendly player corporation where you can gain some experience from older players (and some support).

The 1 mil sp noobchars sure is an isksink. Imagine the amount of cruisers/battlecruisers that would still be alive today if their owners had spent some more time in friggies.

It's breathtakingly n00bish.
"breathtakingly n00bish" is stuck in my head in some kind of twisted cognitive loop, interspersed with maniacal giggling. "breathtakingly n00bish" is the best description for this setup.
Seriously though, good luck in your journey of discovery and everything. Since the technical writers at CCP are either drunk, absent or imaginary creatures, we the players pay good money to write their documentation for them. So read all stickies, whenever you see them. They are about the only documentation this game has that's worth anything. Oh, and eve-wiki.com, battleclinic.com and other instances where players not only did they work but pay for hosting are good resources.
CCP is much too busy trying to figure out how to sell merch and allow players to walk around and emote to do silly things like "fix bugs" or "write documentation".

Cool; thnx for the info. :) And to everyone else asking if I am joking or sarcastic; no, I am not. I'm sure you are all masters of Eve knowledge, and I'm sure that knowledge gets you far, but I am new to the game, and do not possess your awesome, god-like knowledge of the game. That's why I asked the question to begin with. To obtain knowledge I do not have, from those who have it.
There are a lot of mean girls here. Don't let it get to you.
But, please, read the stickies. Look at the tanking guide. Read the threads where people discuss set-ups. Because your set-up was, frankly, a death trap.

I'm with the CareBears, so Welcome to EVE. Might I offer a word of advise that I dont think anyone touched on yet. As a former Noob myself, I have learned the "hard way" (read: wasted ISK) NEVER EVER EVER EVER fit a new ship class without FIRST checking the forums for fits that work. There are HUNDREDS of different fits for all the ships in this game. For example, I have 2 working fits for my PVE Drake. One for full tank and one is a battleship killer (missions only). TWO FITS. SAME SHIP. ALL PVE. I have wasted MILLIONS of ISK doing trial and error, and when the epiphany came to me to check the forums, I HAVENT WASTED 1 ISK. Your setup there was prolly expensive, as I KNOW the ship was, and (no offense) its TOTALLY worthless. I could pop you with my Thorax. And thats bad considering the Myrmidon is one of the most powerful ships, if not THE MOST POWERFUL SHIP, in its class.
Anyway, You will find setups for every type of ship in this game on these forums. I just read one on an armor tanking Nyx (carrier) that is almost indestructable, for example.
Another way to learn is to join a corp. If you get in with a good corp, they can teach you how to outfit ships. I see you arent affiliated with anyone, and the REAL fun in this game happens in corp life.

I am suprised no one asked this.
How did you get into a Myr while being such a noobie. You admitted it yourself. How are you even able to fit that stuff, any less fly it out of the station?

Unfortunately this is how these forums are Vagenbrae. Lots of people who don't realise they're making themselves look stupid by insulting the new person.

I asked it on page one... never did get an answer. My guess would be either A) carebear recently bought himself a pvp alt on the sell orders forum or B) The 4 letter E-word.

Seriously, you guys would be surprised. Many people mine there whole lives and when they get into pvp, just dont have a clue. Maybe this fine gent has been smart enough to never use warp core stabs before, thus doesnt know the repricussions?
Maybe he stopped playing before Kali was employed? Maybe he had an alt, stopped playing then made a new char?
Fact is, we (forum users/flamers) dont know. Thefefore I try and answer any questions asked, whether it be an ebay char or an old player alike. ----------- 24.01.06 Small patch that addresses some minor balancing issues 1) All minmatar pilots have been deleted |

OP: I'm not so much appalled at the setup as I am that you didn't read the items' descriptions. We were all noobs once, but I honestly don't know how you could've gotten to the point where you can use a battlecruiser with tech 2 equipment and not know what the equipment that you're putting on your ship does. I had some people teach me when I was new because I took the time to read about the ships and equipment and then asked semi-informed questions. Read. Just like in real life, reading will save your ass. After you've read and tried to understand the information, then ask questions.
Anti-flame Personnel: Many people jump to flaming because we are in awe of how things get handed to newer players (a friend just made an alt that started with Gunnery 5, Small Hybrid Turret 5, Missile Launcher Operation 4, and a slew of other stuff at 4) and they don't take the time to learn anything about the game, and then ***** when they get owned. Sure, some of us are *******s, but some of us are tired of the lazy approach people take to everything and then whine. --- Hey hey let's go kenka suru! Taisetsuna mono protect my balls! Boku ga warui so lets fighting! LET'S FIGHTING LOVE!!! |

Nah, the guy is just flaming a noob that flies a too big ship. If the op would have posted his setup in corpchat, he would get the same response on his setup. That is, after his corpmates would stop laughing. _________________________________________________ Breetime

Just a general hint: Read the attributes of ALL your modules before you fit them. If you don't know what they do, ask.
Also, you can't activate a MWD and an AB at the same time. Period.

Go roll a new character. See how many SP he gets to start. Look how quickly you can turn Frigate IV and Spaceship Command IV - both "starter" skills - into Battlecruiser II. It's less than a day. I have a friend who just started EVE and it was all I could do to keep him in his Vexor doing level 2 missions while he trains a few "unimportant" skills like Engineering and Hull Upgrades to III or IV. The BC is very tempting, and easy to get. Getting to level 4 Mechanic just doesn't compare.
