Why is Eve Online the only MMORPG to charge it's customers for having more than 1 character on the same account for Skill Training? Every single MMORPG allows 4-8 characters approx. per account for FREE even with a $14.99 monthly subscription. I don't get penalized on my mage or warrior for training them at the same time or leveling them at the same time. Why does Eve Online want another $14.99 a month for a second character? Thats $30/month to play 2 characters. It's very ******** and doesn't let me explore other races and other ships. I LOVE EVE, but this is the #1 Turn OFF that makes me want to QUIT. My main character will be training skills for the next 5 years, why in the world would i want to stop his/her training when i need to train both at the same time? GAh, this is insane. Thanks for your time and understanding. Please do something about this. Don't punish your players.
How can you train your Mage and Warrior at the same time from the same account in WoW? You can't. Sure, you can have up to I think 11 total characters per server, but you can't have more than one logged in (from the same account) at the same time. Thus you're really only leveling up one character at a time, and only while you're actually leveling (questing, pvp, raids, etc). Same 'can' go for EVE. You really want to divide your training time like you HAVE to in other MMO's such as WoW? Go ahead and pause the training on your main, log in an alt and fire up their training queue. That would be the most similar way to train alts in virtually every other MMO (like WoW).
Would you like to know how EVE's way of training is better than other MMO's? Your main is training whether you're logged in to game or not, whether you're actually doing anything productive or not. You can be logged in and working the trade market, or just staring at your ships in your hanger, helping noobs in chat, you're still leveling up presuming you have skills in your queue. And the irony of your post is, EVE is one of the only MMO's that actually LETs YOU train more than 1 character at the same time. Not the other way around like so many people think. Sure, it 'can' cost you more money to train multiple toons at the same time if you so chose, but once you figure out one of the many ways to accumulate ISK, you can start buying PLEX from the in game market with ISK. From there, you can either activate Multiple Character Training, or even pay your sub and not have to spend any real money at all. If you get good enough at making ISK, you can have all three characters on one account training at the same time or even run multiple accounts so you can log more than one toon in at a time and not have to spend a dime of real money.
Yes, the rub is that you'll be training for a looong time. You don't hit level cap easily like in WoW. That's another thing I prefer about EVE. In games like WoW, I hit level cap, do all the end game stuff and get bored. And in EVE, you don't have to be training long to learn how to make ISK, to work the market, to run missions, to explore, to pvp, to mine, to do Planetary Interaction, etc, etc. A 30day queue will let you do all those things.
So don't rage quit. Just look it from a different point of view.
TLDR; You have it backwards. Don't quit. EVE's way of training is actually better. |
